My name is Ken Comito. I founded Brain Juice Productions to produce independent horror shorts and features that aren't cookie cutter-type movies. Brain Juice Productions completed and released its first horror feature, "In The Devil's Courthouse" in November, 2011. The movie was received very well by both fans and critics. "In The Devil's Courthouse" was an official selection of the 2013 Phoenix Comicon, the 2013 Mad Monster Party, and the 2012 Killer Film Fest. It is currently available on Amazon.com in DVD and Instant Video formats. You can learn more about Brain Juice Productions and "In The Devil's Courthouse" at:
Brain Juice Productions is currently in production of a horror anthology, "Witching Hour." The full-length feature will be comprised of six shorts (approximately 10 minutes each) glued together within a thirty minute framework. The framework will follow two young women settling into a new apartment for college as room mates. One room mate is deaf. When they bring an unremarkable clock into the apartment, strange events begin to happen. As one of the women spins into insanity, we learn more about the clock through her dreams, visions, and hallucinations. TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK. Will this evil clock claim yet another soul, or can the woman's room mate help her break its deepening influence on her?
Up next for production is the concluding short of the feature, "Let There Be Dark." This short will be about a man's struggle with a debilitating fear of the dark and what secrets may lurk there. Production is planned for mid October, 2013 with 3 - 4 days of photography.
What We Need & What You Get
I am approaching this feature on a per-project (short) basis and need funding for each to complete the entire anthology.
This is a funding campaign for the short story segment, "Let There Be Dark."
The production cost for the short, "Let There Be Dark," is figured at $1600. Your
contribution can help us move toward completing the anthology, one
short story at a time. This makes each project much more manageable in
terms of cost, time frame, production, and post production. Because we
will be funding each short separately, you can view, in advance of the
general public, the completed short that you helped fund.
All money raised will go to:
- Special makeup effects and visual effects
- Props/set dressing
- Food for cast and crew for all days of shooting
As a way to say thank you to our contributors, we are offering some unique perks for your contributions. Some of these include props, shot lists, screenplays, advanced screenings, and film credits from a simple "Thank You" up to Associate Producer.
If our goal is not reached, we will use any contributions received to move forward with this project. But, with your help, we can make each one of these stories come to life and stitch them into the fabric of "Witching Hour."
Other Ways You Can HelpPlease help spread the word about this project whether or not you can make a contribution. Getting information about this project to the public through social media or other means is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
