Yellowtieguy started in a garage with a commitment to record an album. In Spring of 2011, songwriter Daniel Hill, bassist Mary Celeste, guitarist Jason McKinney, and drummer Darren Guzzone. We spent six weeks practicing 9 songs that had acoustic guitar and vocals, and then we stood in a room with mics on all of us and just hit the record button. Over the course of the next year the recording would be fine tuned over just a few hours a week until everyone’s performance could be felt and heard clearly.Ralf Madrigal would take over drumming duties for all live performances, and Darren took on the active role of producing the record. On May 21st, 2012 “Joy in the Mourning” was released to the public in partnership with 98 Rock’s Noise in the Basement show, hosted by Matt Davis. Yellowtieguy performed their album in full to a packed house at The Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland.
We are currently in the studio recording our second full-length album ("Play on Words"), and we'd like to always be reaching and growing for things we haven't done yet. One thing that we'd really love to do for the next album is to have a music video that visually represents some of the creativity in our group and the amount of fun that we have with all our fans when we get together!
Your support for this music video will allow us to reach out to fans that have never heard us before. We will have opportunities to spread the word about the band to television and internet entertainment sites that specialize in a visual medium like VH1, MTV, etc.
Remember, keep it concise, yet personal. Ask yourself: if someone stopped reading here would they be ready to make a contribution?
What We Need & What You Get
Basically we need $2,000 for filming, editing, and promoting the music video. We will be using the money specifically for ways to grow the band's outreach to new fans and the communities around us.
We're offering exclusive versions of the upcoming album, advance copies of the music video, and VIP packages to some of our performances including the CD release party we will be throwing when everything is complete.
We appreciate you doing everything to help us reach our goal. If we don't reach our goal we will do the best we can with what we have and try to budget an idea that will still have the level of qualiy we're reaching for here, but we know our fans will come together with us here and do something really special
When you fund Yellowtieguy projects you are funding a band that is working within the community to raise money for kids with special needs, raise money for other humanitarian causes, help grow music and other art mediums, and you support a band who actively supports and promotes other bands. Other musicians love us, just ask em!
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't afford to donate for whatever reason, we totally understand. We hope that you'll spread the word about our campaign to as many other people that you can think of. You never know which of your friends or family will truly appreciate what we do and lend their support to us as well!
Indiegogo has a lot of sharing tools that you can use to get a buzz going.
Thanks for all that you do. We love making noise with you!
