You want to buy the Clippers?
Yes, we're serious. If we raise enough money to buy the Clippers, we'll try to buy the Clippers. And while it's not necessarily a traditional Indiegogo project, we think building a kick-ass NBA dynasty is at least as big a project as making vests for hamsters or hot pads that connect to your iPhone. This is a dream, like a last-second shot from half court that gets shared on the news and turns into a viral video or something else like that. If everyone in America just pledges a little over 2 dollars, we can do it. Let's make it happen, people!
This project is all or nothing, so you won't be charged unless we meet our $575,000,000.00 goal and achieve the American dream.
So you're probably saying "what could possibly be the risk?" This is a magical, airtight plan. But well, we thought about it a lot, and there's an outside possibility that our offer of 575,000,000 Indegogo Bucks™ won't be enough to buy the team. We've all got to be mentally prepared for that. But we're confident that our negotiation skills honed through (about) 20 years in the advertising industry and our ability to ask people to help in a huge Twitter campaign, we'll be able to prevail. Plus all the publicity we get will give us the clout to call Oprah or Carrot Top or whoever and convince them to pony up the rest of the money.
What's the plan, and what do you get?
The Clippers are valued at $575,000,000. We'd like to offer market value, so we need it all to make a viable offer. We'd like to give the Clippers hard-working, non-racist, whatever-we-can-do ownership.
We want you to be a part of owning an NBA team, and we thought up lots of great perks that'll make your investment worthwhile.
What does it really all mean?
Your contribution means you can root for a team you helped to buy. If you're a fan of another team, you don't have to switch your allegiance, but think how cool it would be to know your money helped buy a team even if you don't like them.
Don't have money to give? That's ok.
If you can't help us out monetarily, please just be good to people. All people. Say please and thank you. Maybe help whatever basketball team you can with your own personal style.
Who are Peter and Kyle?
Peter and Kyle are two guys who grew up in America, with hopes deeply rooted in the outside chance we all have at achieving the American dream.
Peter played basketball in junior high, and excelled as a second-team 5-foot-5 inch power forward with a weak layup. He once scored four points in a single 20-minute half.
Kyle has a storied basketball past to match. He played center/point for the Bogue Cardinals. There were 10 people in his junior high class so the 5th member of the basketball team was a girl. Kyle was a 3-point shooter known by everyone in his class for the underhand pump shot.
Most importantly, we're not Donald Sterling.
