Most people have never heard the term "particulate matter". It is an extremely harmful emission created by all combustion engines, but particularly diesel engines.With the LeefH2TM (Leveraging Energy Efficient Fuel with Hydrogen), we hope to achieve our mission of "making particulate matter emissions a thing of the past" and to help clean our air by increasing the combustion efficiency of ALL combustion engines. Yes, all.
We're talking trucks, buses, trains, planes, ships, helicopters, tractors, ambulances, and all the other combustion engines you can think of!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The LeefH2 uses water (H2O) to produce hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is used to increase the combustion efficiency of a combustion engine, thereby reducing harmful emissions while the oxygen is released to the atmosphere-- just like a real tree!

As we seek to improve the combustion efficiency of every single combustion engine on earth, we will be reducing fuel consumption and particulate matter emissions in the process, as well as adding millions of tons of life-sustaining oxygen to the atmosphere……which MAY…just MAY help Mother Nature in the repair of our fragile planet from the effects of global warming.
Can we hope to compete with Mother Nature? HECKS NO! That is not our aim in the slightest! But with a worldwide collaborative effort, we could possibly make a difference and possibly help her bring things back into balance.
BUT, really, HOW DOES IT DO IT?
To really understand exactly what the LeefH2 does, you have to understand a little about internal combustion. Just a little.
STANDARD DIESEL COMBUSTION:
1) 100% of the fuel can never be completely burned in an engine during combustion. This is an inherent flaw in combustion engines.
2) Unburned fuel causes harmful emissions to escape into the atmosphere.
DIESEL COMBUSTION WITH THE LEEFH2:
1) Fuel is burned much faster, directly in the combustion chamber, because of the addition of hydrogen. For all you scientists, that's called an increase of the "Laminar Flame Speed" of the diesel fuel. Hydrogen is NOT the fuel! A very, very small amount of hydrogen is required. It simply makes the existing diesel fuel burn faster and more complete.
2) Because of a more complete combustion, less harmful emissions reach the atmosphere. Simple as that! Plus, oxygen is created to boot!
How much less, you ask?
In our EPA-approved lab testings, we have shown a particulate matter reduction of 49% in smaller diesel engines and 43% in larger diesel engines. That means that 43% - 49% less particulate matter entered the atmosphere because of our system. We believe after optimizing the system for various engine types, that number can be increased to a 70% to 90% reduction.
What's the big deal with Diesel Engines, anyway?
Diesel engines power most of the world's trucks, buses, trains, ships, and off-road equipment. But each diesel engine produces tons of air pollutants over its lifetime.
There are 1.25 million diesel-fueled engines and vehicles in California alone, only 2% of vehicles in the state, but they produce 30% of the nitrogen oxides and 60% of the particulate matter. This is staggering! Think of all the diesel engines in the world!
With mounting evidence that diesel exhaust poses major health risks, reducing diesel pollution has become a public health priority.
This stuff is REALLY not good for us.
DID YOU KNOW?
According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, particulate matter in diesel exhaust has been linked to:
- Lung cancer,
- premature death in people with heart or lung disease,
- nonfatal heart attacks,
- irregular heartbeat,
- aggravated asthma,
- decreased lung function,
- increased respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the airways,
- coughing or difficulty breathing.
- reduced outdoor visibility (haze, smog)
- increased acidity in lakes and streams
- damage to forests and farm crops
Where do the CONTRIBUTIONS go?
The LeefH2, particularly the HVU (High Volume Unit), will differ slightly with each class of combustion engine (ex. a cargo ship vs. tractor trailer vs. a jet). Our pilot studies will enable us to make adjustments to the LeefH2 so that it best fits the almost endless applications. Although the chemistry basis of the LeefH2 will never change, the electrolyzer stack within the unit may grow based the type of engine and application.
Production tooling can be expensive. Part of the money raised from the campaign will be used to cover some of the tooling costs of going from our pilot studies to full scale production.
The LeefH2's Online Fleet Management Database will always be enhanced based on the need for integration into a variety of fleet software applications. Some of the data collected by the LeefH2 is unique and available only through our software. Some of this data may need to be integrated with existing systems.
How will HNO Green Fuels SCALE?
In the near future, we intend to license the technology to reputable companies that have the same goals of ours, which is for every combustion engine on earth to be cleaner, create less emissions and capable of producing oxygen.

No one company or group of individuals can do this alone. It will require a world-wide collaborative effort. One combustion engine did not create our environmental problems, millions did. Likewise, one LeefH2 cannot solve our environmental problems, perhaps millions can.
