UPDATE - Winston-Salem Chronicle: http://www.wschronicle.com/2013/07/uncsa%E2%80%88alum-set-to-film-debut-feature-in-winston/
Law of the Land is a feature length action crime thriller about Ash Jones, an expert assassin who has always been prepared for anything. Although when he falls for the beautiful and sexy Renee, he is forced to confront the morality of his profession.
- Once upon a time, Edward Varnie made the short film version of this feature. That film got him accepted into the Directing discipline at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and got his cinematographer, Dylan Zola, accepted into the Cinematography discipline. Now Varnie and Zola want to make this short film into a feature, and they need your help.
Besides a terrific crew (including Producer Gabrielle Lui, Production Designer Aaron Kelly, and Editor Aaron Greenbaum) the filmmakers have also locked down the lead actor for the film: Kwame Patterson, best known for his role of Monk on the classic HBO series "The Wire", and currently playing Re-Kon on the show "Ray Donovan." The money raised in this campaign will pay for his SAG actor fee, as well as equipment rentals, props & costumes, and food for the cast and crew.
We will be shooting the film this August, but we need the help of supporters like you in order to make this film a reality. Even if you can only give a dollar or two, every cent brings us closer to our goal and making this film possible.
What We Need & What You Get
Movies are always fun, but are hard work and cost a lot of money.
Your money will NOT be going towards our pockets! Every dollar donated (besides the % that goes to Indiegogo) will be going directly to the production of the film as stated above.
The money will go towards:
- Set dressing
- SAG fees
- Travel fees
- Location rentals
- Festival fees

You are aiding in the birth of a film. Most stories are written and they stay on paper, forever. We can't keep this story on paper anymore!
- We are all film school graduates, and for most of us, this will be our first feature film.
- If we make this film right (and with enough money, we can) then we can take it to film festivals around the world and hopefully get distribution.
- By supporting us, you can help make our dreams come alive.
Can't contribute any cash? It's okay!
You can still help us! Just please pass this on to your friends and family!
We need as many supporters as we can get, and the more poeople that see this page, the better chance we have at reaching our goal!
