Who We Are!

Hi, Internet! My name is Ashley Ruben and I'm a writer and filmmaker located in Los Angeles, California. Last year, producer Jose Troconis and I assembled a rag tag team to help me create my newest short film "Lana".

Meet our creative team!

Producer, Jose Troconis: Born in Venezuela but raised in Pasadena, Jose is a graduate of UC Irvine and currently works in Post Production on ABC's "Scandal". He's been producing indie projects (and crushing it) since his days in Irvine. Jose can speak to you in English, Spanish, or love.

Cinematographer, Tuan Quoc Le:  Tuan is an east coast transplant from Philadelphia, PA. After earning his degree at Syracuse University in 2009, Tuan has found success working as a DP and as an Editor. He can basically do anything- or at least can trick you into thinking you he can.

Editor, Brian Bautista:  Also a native of Southern California and a graduate of UC Irvine, Brian is the ultimate get out of jail free card. Since graduation, Brian has worked in post on several television shows and feature films. Brian is an all around post production wizard waiting to make your dreams come true.

The Story

"Lana" is the story of a young woman who returns home following the death of her brother. Through the help of her brother's friend, she is able to reconnect with the town that she came from and come to terms with her brother's death. "Lana" is about coping and how sometimes all you need to heal is knowing that you're not alone.

Where YOU Come In

"Lana" is wrapped! We're almost done! We're so close to showing this amazing short film to the world but we need your help to get it out there!

"Lana" was a labor of love. We all worked for free and expect to make no money from this. Friends and family donated most of our equipment, locations, and even food and there's no way to express how grateful we are for all the help we've already received. But in order to get our film seen by people who do not live with me that are forced to watch it over and over again we need money.

We'll use your dollars to submit to film festivals and to cover the rest of the costs of post production. Every penny you donate to our film will get us one step closer to reaching our goal.

What YOU'LL GET

We'll offer an array of fun gifts and thank you rewards! You'll also get my undying adoration and love.

Other Ways You Can Help

We know that money is tight and that not everyone can help out financially. If you feel passionate about this project, feel free to do us a solid and just spread the word!

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!
