KHQA CBS News Story

Each trial is estimated to last for two weeks.

This will be four weeks in a hotel and four weeks of eating fast food.

I know that $3000 isn't going to be enough to cover their expenses or their lost wages from not working.  But, it will help.  If you can even help with a couple of dollars, it will add up.

My name is Anna Horton.  Two years ago, my cousin Carissa Horton left to attend her first year of Bible college at Oral Roberts University.  It was an exciting time in her life.  She felt that it was her calling to pursue a ministry through music.  Carissa was very talented at writing music and had a beautiful voice.

This was also a very exciting time in her personal life, because she had just began dating her boyfriend, Ethan Nichols.  She had a bright future ahead of her.

Just six weeks after her parents dropped her off at Bible college, on the evening of September 18, 2011.  Carissa and Ethan went to a nearby park to go jogging.  While they were there, two men robbed them at gunpoint, forced them to their knees and murdered them execution style.

The police arrested two men who are believed to be the murderers.  These two men are scheduled to go to trial.  One is scheduled to begin on September 9 and the other trial is scheduled to begin on November 4 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It is important for Carissa’s family to attend the trials; however, they are not wealthy.  Carissa’s family lives in Iowa.  They will have to take off work, travel to Oklahoma and stay in a hotel for both trials.  This will be expensive and they will need our help.

Please consider donating any amount that you feel able to help Carissa’s family offset these expenses and see justice served for Carissa and Ethan.
