SO, WHAT IS THIS?

Classmates from the school of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of The Arts, trying to make a feature length film that could be great but, first we need your help!

SYNOPSIS:

William, Gary, Alissa, and Eric are close friends at differing stages in their high school careers. Although they are close they mask their relationships with humorous defense mechanisms. For this group nothing is to be taken seriously.

One night driving around, the group picks up Alexa, William's dream girl, from a recently busted party. She is reluctant to accept the ride but, has no other choice.  Something happens that warrants the groups nearly non-exsistant serious side, and the emotional walls begin to wear. Alissa takes advantage of the rare moment and attempts to really get to know William.

William continues his pursuit of Alexa into the night and eventually winds up alone with her, to discover she is not the girl he thought she was.

Early the next morning, things seem back to normal. However, as the sun rises, their evolution is illuminated.

It's a dramedy about friendship, love, lust, growing up, and parental neglect.

IS THIS WORTH IT?

Well for me, a thousand times yes, and I think will be worth it for you too! The story is relatable to the masses and true to life, so true to life that we aim to blur the lines between neorealism and documentary. No campy Hollywood mess is in the agenda for this film! I want you to feel attached to these characters after 90 minutes, like you would to the lead in a TV series, three seasons in.

WHAT'S THE PLAN? AESTHETICALLY?

We are shooting mostly with only available light. This is why we need the low-light capabilities of the RED. We want to use the ambience to add to the emotional honesty that drives the story. We are embracing the grain for its rawness and texture. Ever seen Beast of The Southern Wild?
