I am Taimak (pronounced Tie-Mock) some people call me The Last Dragon.
I love artists, all artists!
And I love my fans, we inspire each other....
It's been 27 years since we wrapped principal photography for Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon,
It's truly been an honor to meet so many wonderful people that are fans and hold this movie close to their hearts.
It is a true pleasure every time I run into you guys in person and on my Twitter and Facebook walls.
Here we are today 2011 and after the economical breakdown, banks have been hoarding their money and it's been very difficult to squeeze a penny out of them for film projects unless they have a big name attached to it.
Well with the advancement of technology it appears the cost of making a professional
motion picture has dramatically reduced.
I'm happy to say I've gathered together a team of passionate and experienced filmmakers
that have teamed up with me to get a film done.
I want to start modest as I've written and will be directing the film.
So I'm starting with a short film of no more then 20 minutes in length.
I want to entertain you in those 20min or so, with action, drama and intrigue.
But I'm going to need your help to make this happen. And yes I'll be in the movie.
PLEASE CHOOSE PAYPAL WHEN MAKING A DONATION, IT ALLOWS US TO USE THE FUNDS IMMEDIATELY FOR THE FILM. OTHERWISE WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE END OF THE CAMPAIGN TO COLLECT THE FUNDS .I'm an actor/martial artist.
I've done over a dozen plays, onstage from New York to Mississippi to Los Angeles.
I've even had some experience in the professional wrestling ring with Jimmy "Wang" Yang taking me to Kentucky to do a couple of tag team matches. That was hilarious, not sure I'd do that again though.
I've modeled for some of the biggest photographers in the world Francesco Scavullo,
Bruce Weber, I've done many commercials and did martial arts choreography for people
like Madonna . I've worked with Janet Jackson in her Let's Wait A'While video and produced my own Fitness DVD and calendar. I've done stunt work at universal studio's Hollywood. I've directed stage but this will be the first film I'm directing. I also have a young people's program where I deliver a seminar to children all over the U.S. called
The Unfolding Dream Program
A story about how Detective Ray Larson's investigation into a role playing club goes terribly wrong.
Women in a line of work where rules should never be broken.
I've Seen Things is an entirely independent feature, written and directed by myself, Taimak Guarriello. Bob Scott is the cinematographer, along with editor and cameraman William Hoehauser. Creative director is Valerija V, associate producer James Richards, detective consulting and firearms props Nikwan Murphy.
I choose to work with those who are closest to me, my friends a mixture of artists who for the most part live in NY and who also wish to collaborate with myself and each other, entirely unpaid. Our collaboration extends beyond the cast and crew and includes those who offer their homes, apartments, businesses, locations for filming. Anyone picking up a phone to help find costumes and props, as well as other resources. I would like to include you in the team/community.
I've Seen Things, we begin shooting principal photography this month, after shooting two very inspiring tests! Once we've completed principal photography we will create a rough edit with the footage. I intend to finish a final edit of I've Seen Things in July and begin screening shortly after.
I've Seen Things is being shot on two cameras a Canon 5D mark II and as well as on a Panasonic GH2.
I've Seen Things is a project that extends beyond the traditional boundaries and roles of a narrative film, as such it requires the participation of a supportive team that is involved in the production as collaborators. It is very important for me to connect with this team/community by enlisting talent, crew, and other resources. Financially however, I realize that the potential community stretches far beyond limits and I would like to embrace that connection. When one comes upon a like-minded individual that possess as much enthusiasm for a project as the filmmaker, it is important to nurture that relationship and support it as a collaboration.
WANTS & NEEDSFor this portion of principal photography we are hoping to raise $5,000. To give you an idea of where this money will be going consider this:
And anything else you might think is useful!
Please share with friends, family members, co-workers, bosses, dog-walkers, doctors, politicians, filmmakers, janitors, teachers, students, PRODUCER friends, and anyone else you think may be interested in sharing this experience with us (it'll only hurt a little, I promise...)
