This campaign is raising funds on behalf of Understanding Government, a verified nonprofit. The campaign does not necessarily reflect the views of the nonprofit or have any formal association with it. All contributions are considered unrestricted gifts and can't be specified for any particular purpose.

On March 12, a 28-minute rough-cut of “How Washington Really Works: Charlie Peters and the Washington Monthly” was completed.

This task completion was due to the $6,177  raised last fall on Indiegogo. Thank you!

The Charlie Porject still has a few more miles to travel before the film reaches its final completion in August, but we are in the endgame of a three-year old project.

A trailer of the film can be viewed here (see gallery), and in April and May we showcased the rough cut at two places in Washington DC.

The project still need to raise $10,000 for the final edit, and thus we are announcing the “100 x 100 Campaign”:

We need 100 people to donate $100 each and that will raise the needed $10,000 in 30 days, from May 1st to May 30th, to complete the film.

The funds will be used for: purchasing copyrighted footageaudio correction and sound mixing; online final editing (coloration, motion animation, graphics, authorizing, etc.); DVD production (manufacturing); Insurance; initial marketing and distribution.

How Washington Really Works is on the verge of being completed. (See the trailer at the gallery section here or here.)

We still need help. So we are appealing, to quote the Bard, to a “Happy few,” a band of brothers and sisters, a MIGHTY ONE HUNDRED, who will each donate $100 in   thirty(30) days.

THIRTY days to donate to assist the completion of a film about one of the most influential but overlooked journalists and magazines in the country, Charlie Peters and the Washington Monthly

We have limited perks: A member of the MIGHTY ONE HUNDRED will receive a DVD of the film, along with  supplemental material: the “RAW and UNCUT Interviews on Media and Journalism.”

Plus: a special MIGHTY ONE HUNDRED signed poster for one’s participation in the 100 x 100 Campaign of 2013, and the enduring gratitude of The Charlie Project!

Join us in completing this noble task!  Help us fight the scourge of post-journalism (in which mere technology and scoop-ism trumps facts, accuracy, and the quest for truth).

Join we happy few and become a MIGHTY ONE HUNDRED!

Another way to help: If you can't donate, please to consider assisting the film by going to Facebook.com/howwashingtonreallyworks and clicking "like." That'll help in future promotions.

Note re payment: You can contribute directly via your credit card, which increases the value of your contribution, or through PayPal.

However, if you contribute via PayPal, that – along with Indiegogo and the film’s fiscal sponsor (Understanding Government) – increases the film’s service fees to three entities (PayPal, Indiegogo, Understanding Government).

If you decide to write a check, make it out to Understanding Government; memo line: “The Charlie Project” or “HWRW.” Mail to Understanding Government, 1312 18th Street NW, Suite 510, Washington, DC 20036.

If you don’t need a perk, please say so. Perks, traditional inducements to donations, increases the time and costs in regard to fulfillment.
