My name is Reem Razek. I am an Egyptian student and asylum seeker in the United States. I applied for asylum in February of 2013 but have not yet gotten my asylum interview because there is a huge backlog of cases. There's no telling when my interview will happen. Meanwhile, I am desperate for a good college education. I was accepted into Queens College for this fall and I really want to go, but all federal financial aid options, including work study and loans are unavailable to me until after I get asylum.  About a year ago I made my first crowd-funding appeal and was very moved by the kindness and humanity of strangers who have helped me survive in the US until now. I am doing another crowd-funding appeal in hopes of getting the financial help I need in order to attend Queens College.  I believe that I need to continue my education to achieve my goals of working on environmental issues and for women's rights.  Please help if you can, and it would be really wonderful if you shared this and sent it to friends.

Thank you,
