Project Rebuild
Legacy Creative Works was started with a vision in early 2004 of creating original non-scripted programming that was geared towards “effectively” helping people in need and showing the world their story, through our eyes.

Perhaps one of the most important series we have ever created is "Project Rebuild" which has been created to help Homeless Families in need.

Did you know that the United States has the largest number of homeless women and children of any industrialized nation and that 1 in every 45 children in the US are homeless, which means that within 1 year, over 1.6 MILLION children have experienced homelessness in the US.

(The statistics below are the best estimates of the extent of homelessness, but it is important to note that they are undercounts)

Startling Numbers

• 1 out of every 45 children in the US are homeless.
• In any given day, over 1.6 Million children have experienced homelessness
• Homeless families comprise 34% of the homeless population.
• Almost 40% of the entire homeless population is under 18.
• 42% of these homeless children are younger than 6 Health Problems Due to Homelessness
• Homeless children are sick four times more often than other children.

o Four times as many respiratory infections.
o Twice as many ear infections.
o Five times more gastrointestinal problems.
o Four times more likely to have asthma.
o Go hungry at twice the rate of other children.57% of homeless kids spend at least one day every month without food.
o Have high rates of obesity due to nutritional deficiencies
o Have three times the rate of emotional and behavioral problems compared to non-homeless children

Experiences of Violence
• By age 12, 83% had been exposed to at least one serious violent event.
• Almost 25% have witnessed acts of violence within their families.

Educational and Developmental Issues Children experiencing homelessness are:

• Four times more likely to show delayed development.
• Twice as likely to have learning disabilities as non-homeless children.
• At least 20 % of homeless children are unable to attend school.
• Within a year, 41% will attend two different schools and 28% will attend three or more schools and each change sets them back 4-6 months.
• Of homeless children in grades 3-12, only 48% were proficient in reading and only 43% were proficient in math.
• 36% of homeless children repeat a grade
• Approximately 1.16 million of homeless children today will not graduate from high school.

Seeing the news stories about homeless families in our local area and a simple Google search found an alarming rate of homeless families across the U.S that need and deserve our help, so we decided to develop a series that will help as many of these homeless families as possible, while giving them a solid chance at a new life, even after our cameras have gone.

<Tagline> In a search throughout America, homeless families are selected to be taken from destitute to solvency as PROJECT REBUILD provides a surprising, life-changing experience to those in need.

Join our Hosts; a Master Carpenter and a Professional Decorator, as they visit a different US city, in each dramatic episode, to help unknowing Homeless families who have lost everything regain their lives.

This new reality docu-drama TV series gives each family a simple job helping to remodel an old house for what they think is a new Reality TV series designed to flip houses, as viewers watch the modest house be dramatically transformed by the hands of the family and crew into a beautiful home.

Unbeknownst to the family, the Reality series is NOT actually about the house as much as it is about them. Get up close and personal in each episode as our hosts and camera crew get to know the chosen family...their story, their sadness, their happiness and their hopes of once again having a better life.

Once the home has been remodeled and the job is done the family prepares to go back to their regular life. But, in another shocking twist, just as they get ready to leave they are surprisingly told that the home they have been working so hard on is actually theirs, along with the new furniture inside, new clothes and a trustee controlled bank account worth $20,000 to help them with future bills and food.

The twists continue when the surprised family learns that one of the workers they met during the remodel is actually the owner of a local business who is giving one of them a job. The family is also introduced to a local counselor to help them progress with their new life and to help keep them on the right track.

At the end of each episode our cameras fast forward and once again peek into the family’s life at home and at work to see their progress and to capture the happiness of their Rebuilt life before our hosts and camera crew pull away to our next…                                                                                                                         ...PROJECT REBUILD destination.

Project Rebuild along with H-Block and Protection Order are being developed to help people in need, not to exploit them as other shows have done in the past and not to just leave them once production has wrapped. This is a cause that should be taken more seriously in America, and it is very important to us here at Legacy.

We have chosen to create the pilot and a few episodes for Project Rebuild and help out at least four families in need. By producing the pilot and 4 other additional episodes in-house it helps us to maintain our outline of how the show was originally created, with heart and not exploitation! Once the pilot and episodes have been completed they will then go to the networks for review, if the series is not picked up by a network it will be developed into a web series and will still maintain our course of helping families in need, just with a little lower budget.

We are asking for donations to purchase additional tools needed on and off set along with a trailer that is needed, we will purchase all of our needed items at very modest prices. Having the right tools for the job along with the trailer to transport them is a very large part of Project Rebuild. It helps us behind the scenes and on camera to get the job done and get the home remodeled all while helping a needy family and providing them with the nice home they need to live a normal, healthy, productive life.

We will keep all of our supporters updated during and after the production and even give you sneak peaks into the production.
We appreciate any help you can give, even if it is 1.00, it will put us 1.00 closer to making this dream a reality for our company and for several needy families per season of what we hope to be many seasons to come.
We have created some great items for our (Support Crew) contributors (see below)
If you have any questions, comments or have a sponsorship to offer please contact us at contact@legacycreativeworks.com

We will soon be posting an episode campaign for Project Rebuild along with our biggest help production to date... H-Block where we take an old prison and transform it into Americas largest homeless and battered women & children help center also,
