MUSIC WITH A SOCIAL MISSION: To employ the homeless by leveraging the power of music.
$10,000 that you donate = $80,000 on the streets of America!
Everyone deserves employment. Harmonic Humanity’s CD program provides an immediate job to any homeless, disabled or low-income individual living in transition on the streets.
Since starting this program homeless street vendors have raised an estimated $100,000 plus for themselves, many using the money for FOOD, CLOTHING & SHELTER.
With your contribution, we plan to launch 5 major cities by starting them off with 200 music CD's. 200 = $1800 in re-sale value, remember they buy the music CD from us for $2 and they sell it on the streets for $10 keeping 100% of the profit.
We are asking for $55,000 to do this work.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS.

Harmonic Humanity was founded almost 10 years ago when AJ Lovewins, a community activist, and social artist, who had experienced the devastation of homelessness in his younger years, asked himself, how he could expand upon a music program he had created at a soup kitchen in Seattle Washington in service to the homeless.
The first CD entitled Love Wins was very successful raising an estimated $50,000 dollars for the homeless in Seattle within the first year. The effects were widespread sparking the two minute spot on King 5 news. Soon AJ teamed up with his best friend Joseph Jacques. Together they extended the CD outreach program to San Francisco inspiring support from musicians such as Jason Mraz, Maroon 5, John Butler Trio, SOJA and Michael Franti.
Their second CD entitled Relief was produced in 2010. Working from the San Francisco Street Sheet office, Joseph and AJ distributed the CDs themselves every Tuesday and Thursday.
Vol 2. Relief has been distributed in San Francisco, St Louis and Seattle. To date the two CDs have helped homeless individuals raise an estimated $100,000 plus for themselves. Now AJ and Joseph are developing a strategy to launch the program nationally with your help and with additional education and counseling goals (see extended goals).

By contributing to this campaign you will be helping Harmonic Humanity produce its third CD, Hero and expand the CD Employment Program into five additional U.S. cities to help those in need step into the role of Hero of Their Own Story.
THE CD PROGRAM. Every dollar that goes towards buying a CD creates $8 for a homeless individual. The homeless, low-income or disabled individual purchases the CD for $2 - $1 goes to Harmonic Humanity and $1 goes to the distributor, which in this case is the Street Newspapers or organizations we partner with. After the sale the $8 profit goes to the homeless.
THE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. The system has at this point been largely funded by a handful of financial supporters and created through the dedication of AJ and Joseph and a growing community of musicians, organizations, and volunteers. At this point, in order to scale this project for five new cities, the funding goals of this campaign must be met.

Risks & Challenges
Risks - Some of our distribution partners (Street Newspapers) can be challenging to maintain consistency with due to their own internal struggles. Many of them are grassroots organizations working with fundraising and staffing issues of their own. In some cases we need to find alternate distributors; professional well run organizations with direct access to large numbers of homeless individuals.
Challenges - The work of supporting individuals navigating homelessness can be tough as homelessness is about much more than "houseless-ness". Depression, addiction, mental illness, anger issues, domestic problems, and disabilities are just a few of the social challenges we deal with. This is also why we have our extended education and counseling goals - see below.
Level 1 - Education and Counseling. We've tested our CD program and this model has been proven to work, with further funding, we will complete development and publish our workbook, "The Hero's Game-Book". This work booklet will facilitate the concept of "The Hero's Journey" by Joseph Campbell and feature other great works of philosophy from Jean Houston (Social Artist) James O'Dea (Social Healer), Michael Beckwith (Agape), Arnold Mindell, and many more living luminaries in the Human Potential field.
The Game-Book will be part of the CD project. On one hand you have a start towards economic stability with the selling of the CD's and on the other hand you have Transformational Education for those that are struggling most and need this education more than anybody.
Level 2 - Documentary Film. Sharing this story with the world through a well made film will be the most powerful brushstroke we can make as a dynamic organization that uses music, transformational education and love to heal this national epidemic. The documentary will take viewers to the streets to meet the people we help and to the studios and stages of leaders in the worlds of Conscious Music, Transformational Education and Social Healing including Jason Mraz, Michael Franti, Maroon 5, John Butler, Soja, Jean Houston, James O'Dea, Michael Beckwith, Arnold Mindell and more.
