Introduction:  My Name is Adam Weiss, and I am the creator and CEO of Extraction Zones, as well as, an active Fire Fighter and Paramedic in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I created Extraction Zones because I saw a serious need to help both my fellow first responders and the patients that we respond to.  Extraction Zones is designed to do two things.  1. Save Lives  2. Prevent Injuries.

How it works:  After a traffic accident occurs passengers are often trapped inside of the vehicle. Extraction Zones gives responding emergency personnel quick access the structural layout of vehicles and determine the safest methods for extrication with the "jaws of life." By utilizing extraction zones emergency personnel are able to save time in getting trapped passengers out of the vehicle and getting them the care they need.

Why its needed:  As modern vehicle technology evolves many new features are being added to vehicles.  These features such as airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, ultra-high strength steel structural reinforcements, alternative propulsion hybrid batteries, and high-voltage hybrid battery cables have made a giant leap forward in the automotive industry.  However, one of the unintended consequences of all of these technological innovations is that it has made extricating (the process of cutting trapped people out of a vehicle) a very dangerous and tedious process.  This process has been slowed down and complicated, as a result, critical medical is being delayed and lives are being lost!

The Process and the Solution:  If first responders are able to get the trapped victims of vehicle accidents out of their vehicles and to life-saving emergency medical care just a few minutes faster this can be difference between life and death in many cases.  Multiple medical studies have shown that if critical trauma patients can get to a hospital within one-hour of being injured then their chances of survival are greatly enhanced.  The average vehicle extrication for a critical patient is in excess of twenty minutes in the developed countries of the world, and much longer in the undeveloped world.  When you factor in the time it takes for somebody to call for help, then add the time to respond to the accident, then add the time to get the person out of the vehicle, and then add the time to get them to the appropriate hospital this one-hour window becomes a very difficult target to hit.  I believe this timeframe can be hit much more often if we can reduce the timeframe extricating our patients out of these mangled vehicles, and many lives can be saved if this technology was in the hands of every first responder around the globe.

What we Need to make this happen:  Extraction Zones is already available for download on the Apple App Store and on Google Play for both smart-phones and tablets that utilize both of these operating systems.  We have already been downloaded over 7,000 times by first responders all over the world without any marketing!  We have a growing data-bank of vehicles, but need to place many more into the application so that every driver on the road will be protected.  We currently have approximately 150 popular vehicles on the road that are sold within North America in the app.  We are trying to raise money for development costs so that we can place all of the vehicles on the road into the data-bank of vehicles.  Once we have completed all of the vehicles within North America, we will be creating a European, Pacific-Rim, and South American version of the application.  Our goal is to save the lives of victims of vehicle accidents around the world.

It is very important that we are able to get every vehicle placed into the application very soon so that every first responder who utilizes the application is able to quickly access the critical information and act accordingly to any vehicle they may encounter on the road wherever they are.

Where is the Money going:  Our goal with this campaign is to raise the necessary $30,000 dollars that we need to place all of the necessary information into the application.  This information includes detailed vehicle schematics outlining all of the critical information that any first responder would need to effectively get you or your loved ones out of your vehicle and to medical care.  This money will strictly be used for further Developing the application, and will not go toward any other causes.  By contributing to this campaign you are ensuring safer roadways for you and your family, and helping to keep fire fighters, paramedics, and other first responders healthier and more protected in the process.

If we are not able to raise the entire amount we have set out for with this campaign you can rest assured that the funds will still go toward the Research and Development of this life-saving application.

How you can help:  Please share with your friends and family and make some noise about this campaign!  Notify the first responders in your community that this application exists to help them better perform their jobs.  Use the Indiegogo share tools to help this campaign reach its maximum potential.
