Hello, my neighbors and I reside within one of the most violent neighborhoods in New Orleans. During a Mother's Day Parade outside our homes, 7 women, 10 men, a girl & a boy were all injured by a local criminal's indiscriminate gunfire. Thankfully, a private security camera provided vital footage to the police, which soon led to the arrest of the alleged gunman.
In effort to help reduce violence in our neighborhood, we have reached out to the non-profit ProjectNOLA for assistance. Managing what is likely the most successful crime camera system in the Country, ProjectNOLA currently has direct access to almost 400 HD cameras around New Orleans, and can relay real-time supplemental information to NOPD officers and detectives responding to an emergency. In recent months, ProjectNOLA's cameras have successfully assisted NOPD investigations into dozens of crimes including homicides, shootings, stabbings, robberies, burglaries and thefts.
For every dollar we raise, ProjectNOLA will be providing corporate match donations, allowing us to get each day/night HD Crime Camera for $450 (installed!). As a non-profit, ProjectNOLA does not charge monthly maintenance fees, and provides all monitoring and back-end communications with the NOPD at no charge!
We have no doubt that ProjectNOLA Crime Cameras would help reduce violent neighborhood crime by drastically increasing police efficiency.
100% of all donated funds will go directly into helping reduce violence in our area. Our goal is to immediately have 10 ProjectNOLA Crime Cameras installed in our neighborhood. While not reaching our goal would be unfortunate, we will use whatever we get to secure as many crime cameras as we can. Anything more over what we have right now would be an improvement. Donations large or small would greatly be appreciated.
