We're Hiatus Kaiyote, a 4 piece band based in Melbourne, Australia. Since forming in 2011, we have earned the respect of our idols, being praised by Erykah Badu, Questlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Odd Future members and Flying Lotus. Our debut EP, Tawk Tomahawk, was nominated for Album of the Year for the Worldwide Awards by Gilles Peterson, and the we recived the award for Breakthrough Artist of 2012.

The next step for us is to perform at the South By Southwest conference in Austin, Texas (USA) in March, 2013.

Performing there will be a huge step for Hiatus Kaiyote - SXSW is the largest music conference in the world, a key industry event which will have record label representatives, music supervisors, brand representatives, festival promoters and venue owners from around the globe.

In addition to SXSW showcases, we have a brief, but crucial US tour lined up, including gigs in Houston, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, NYC and LA.

For an independent group from Australia that has barely been together for eighteen months, the costs involved are significant.  Work visas, accommodation, flights, van rentals, backline, engineer costs, marketing costs, publicity and day-to-day living expenses will set us back at least $15-20k for 4 weeks in USA.

We want to make the biggest initial impact possible in the USA, and plan to return as soon as June, 2013 for a more extended tour.

We believe by performing in the US, we'll be able to expand our already fast-growing fan base, and establish industry connections that will support Hiatus Kaiyote as an international touring force to be reckoned with.

With your support, we can land in the USA and have a successful tour, hopefully the first of many international tours to be had in 2013 and beyond.
