Hannah Slaney goes to the World Championships!

I need your help to raise money to enable me to compete for my country at the Youth Climbing Championships in Sept (2014) in New Caledonia just off the coast of Australia.

  • I am a Bristol based climber and I am 14 years old. I climb at Undercover Rock and my coach is Ben West. I also train with British Team Boulderer Max Ayrton.
  • I have been climbing since I was 8 years old when I attended a birthday party at UCR and Ben encouraged me to start climbing.
  • I was selected for the GB lead climbing team in April 2014. I am the current BMC youth climbing series champion, having defended my title last weekend at  EICA Ratho and the winner of the British Boulder Championships, round 2 at TCA Glasgow.
  • I  made the finals and came 6th in my first European Cup in June  and now I need your help to get to the World Champs!
  • In 2014 I have found form and shown that I can consistently get results against the best in Europe. I want more and with your help I can move to the international stage and show what I can do.

How you can help

I need £3000 to pay for flights, accommodation for 10 days and living expenses.
I am hoping for small donations from lots of people and I think we can do it. So please, please donate either by credit card or PayPal:))
Look out for me at the following events. Come and chat, ask for climbing tips.
St Bons school summer fair
If I don't reach my entire goal I don't have a Plan B, yet, to get me there!
I am happy to negotiate attendance at any corporate events, in return for a donation,  or coaching tips on how I climb and train or even to compete against you on  a mobile or local indoor climbing wall under supervision of a qualified adult.
If I exceed my target I will use funds to pay for training and travel expenses to competitions.

What it means to me.

I want you to know that I am a fairly normal kid who loves to climb and I know that I can't do this one on my own.
I want others to be inspired and to know that anything is possible with training and committment. Climbing is more accessible than ever. Go to your local wall, gain the skills you need through NICAS and get outdoors and most important of all have fun.
Your support means 'the world' to me!!

Other Ways You Can Help

If you are not able to donate it doesn't mean that you can't help.

Spread the word about my campaign. Get involved and use the Indiegogo share tool, facebook and twitter to share my story. If you know any companies that would be willing to donate in return for me writing my story in their newsletter, or  coming to their team-building events  for a 'beat the teenager' climb-athon - just let me know.
