Help My Online Medical Education Project Succeed
I'm a pulmonologist (lung specialist) and critical care physician (caring for ICU patients) in Atlanta, GA. I'm asking you to contribute to my online medical education project, Pulmonary Central (also called PulmCCM Central at pulmccm.org).
Over 2,000,000 medical articles are published every year -- more than 4,000 per year in my specialty alone. It's virtually impossible for doctors to stay up to date.
I created PulmCCM.org as my own way of fighting this difficult trend. PulmCCM.org is a single source for all the most important research findings in pulmonary & critical care medicine. Doctors have responded by making the site one of the most-visited medical blogs -- over 40,000 visitors last month, and rising every month.
The problem is, I can't keep up with all the writing and developing that goes into the site, and the small amount of advertising revenue can't pay the bills to hire people.
Your contribution to PulmCCM.org will go directly to two areas:
- Pay doctors across the U.S. to help me summarize research articles. For the year, this will cost about $10,000 - $15,000.
- Hire a mobile app developer to complete the iPhone and Android apps, which are going to be extremely cool. This costs $5,500 - $10,000.
By strengthening this project, you will be helping doctors learn, take better care of their patients, and maybe even save more lives.
