I'm Brad Jaffe, the founder and owner of Dogological. For years I have held a desire to create a complete at-home dog teaching program that instructs dog owners on how they can have well-mannered dogs through compassionate and simple teaching techniques. I have been teaching dogs and their humans for over 15 years and have developed the Dogological method from my work with over 6,500 dogs. I was tired of hearing stories of dogs being "trained" through unnecessary harsh and abusive training methods, so I have found a simple way of communicating with dogs in a way that they understand.
"Brad Jaffe believes dogs should have an active part in their own training..." - Nicki Escudero, Phoenix People
The Humane Society estimates that 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized each year and lack of training has been identified as one of the factors that leads to euthanization. I strongly believe that if dog owners can easily access affordable dog training methods, we can keep dogs out of shelters and work to bring this number down.
With a little guidance from my program and by being patient and allowing your dog the space and time to use their natural problem solving ability, they can literally teach themselves to do what you are asking. Training this way is not only fun for both of you, but even more effective and reliable than methods using intimidation and humiliation. While I have helped thousands of dogs in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area, my goal is to make the Dogological method easily available to anyone and everyone that wants to have a well-mannered dog while preserving a great mutually beneficial relationship with their pet.
With your help Dogological will also help support the continued expansion of Gabriel’s Angels, a non-profit organization that serves over 13,000 abused, neglected and at-risk children in Arizona with pet therapy. Our partnership with Gabriel's Angels has been a natural fit. While Dogological helps to prevent dogs from being exposed to harsh and abusive methods, Gabriel’s Angels helps heal and nurture children that have been exposed to abuse, neglect, and abandonment through the gentle, loving presence of therapy dogs. Our organizations have aligned missions because just as children never deserve to be hit, intimidated or humiliated, neither do dogs.

The Dogological At-home Dog Teaching DVD package contains a set of six information-packed videos, plus a full workbook outlining each video. Each video begins with a short introduction and instructions on how to teach the exercise in the video (for example, sit or down), accompanied by graphics and additional videos that further enhance my training techniques. After the introduction, you can easily scroll down to view a group of still frame pictures with the names and information of multiple dogs. You can click on a picture and watch me teach that dog the exercise.
The videos are designed to teach dog owners how to teach their dogs anything they want them to learn through clear communication their dogs can understand. You're not going to see a handful of already-trained dogs; throughout all six video’s you will be able to see me teaching 29 different dogs with 63 different demonstrations on 6 different exercises! You will see a mix of skill levels, from beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Throughout each clip you can hear what I’m saying as I work with the dog, and we're also going back to add voiceover comments to more clearly explain exactly what's going on from my point of view and from the dog's point of view.
*All Dogological programs and discounts will be made available by June 2014.

Why We Need Your Help
My method teaches owners to teach their dogs from the dog’s point of view and allows for as much or as little structure as the owner prefers. My method also allows dog owners to love their pets and be able to achieve desired behaviors through tapping into the dog’s natural intelligence and ability to learn. This non-confrontational method is a stark contrast to well-known pack leader dominance models. There is nothing like this out there and with your help I strongly believe it will be the best at-home dog training system in the world.
By contributing to this mission you will be helping to create a paradigm shift in dog training methods across the globe. Allowing millions of dog loving people access to a kind, humane, common sense way of teaching their dogs.
You will also help Gabriel’s Angels to expand their wonderful work with at-risk children by adding more therapy dog teams to serve an additional 10,000 children in Arizona and support their plans to expand nationwide. It takes $2,500 to recruit, train, place, and monitor one therapy dog team for one year.
Take a quick look at this video which highlights a recent Gabriel's Angels therapy team visit to Florence Crittenton. Florence Crittenton is a non-profit organization that helps at-risk girls from 10 to 21 overcome issues of abuse, neglect, teen pregnancy, teen parenting, and behavioral and/or mental health problems:
What We Need to Succeed
We have completed 95% of the filming for the videos, but we are only half way there. We still need to:
Complete the editing. It’s an extremely
time consuming and expensive task because the editor needs to edit each
training session with all 29 dogs (by blending three different camera angles),
Brad’s audio (as he’s teaching each dog), and his voice and commentary from the
voiceover recordings. Then the editor will need to go back into each clip and
add the graphics highlighting what’s being taught.
Prepare the video files of the entire
program into a layout
specifically designed for DVDs and separate layouts for downloads on computers,
tablets and mobile phones.
Design and finalize packaging.
Continue work with full-time marketing
and PR support to promote the product.
In order for Gabriel’s Angels to expand their therapy dog program to meet the needs of approximately 10,000 more Arizona children and also expand in cities across the nation, they still need funding to:
Recruit therapy teams. Therapy teams consist of dogs and
their owners and funds are needed for community outreach efforts to recruit
these volunteer teams.
therapy teams. The organization needs additional money for staff to train
therapy teams. In order to place therapy dog teams, Gabriel’s Angels needs
contributions to assist with on-site training and placement of teams at
participating organizations such as homeless shelters and or crisis centers.
and monitor therapy teams. In order for volunteers to continue to provide
therapy services, funding is needed for owners and dogs to meet
registration and training guidelines to ensure safety of the children they
With your contribution you are helping to empower dog lovers all over the world with the information, skills, and knowledge to teach their dogs through gentle, loving techniques and prevent many dogs from being relinquished or euthanized due to "so called" undesirable behavior. The icing on the cake is helping more children to find relief from trauma or sadness through the unconditional love of a Gabriel’s Angels therapy dog.
Thank you in advance for your time and support.
