A CALL FOR SUPPORT
Blades of Steel are humbly and graciously asking for your help in funding the production of our next studio album. We’re not looking for handouts. This is an opportunity to pre-purchase the album, purchase tickets to our album release at the Nite Owl on Nov 14, arrange a private performance for yourself and your friends or engage in a few different opportunities unique to the different members of Blades of Steel. This will be our third release and our first full length album. We’ve narrowed the material down to 8 songs and with a great recording and well-promoted release, we are confident that we will reach the next level.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
A key component to a fantastic album is mixing, and BoS are stoked to be taking this album to Vancouver to mix with Ben Kaplan. Ben’s worked with a ton of talent including Mother Mother, Rise Against, Hedley, Five Alarm Funk and NinjaSpy, Other costs include a variety of rentals for recording, mastering the album (Jamie Sitar at Outta Town Sound - Swollen Members, Sweatshop Union, Dan Mangan) and CD replication. This album is going to eclipse all the work we’ve done in the past. You will be proud of the results!
HELP US HELP OURSELVES
We have raised a good portion of our budget through sweat equity (touring, merchandise sales, etc), but we are not there yet. BoS are a hard-working band, and we don’t have it in us to come to you with our hands out. Everyone who contributes to this will get their fair share in return. We’ll be busting our asses to make sure you all walk away happy with both our new material and with any of the extras you decide to be a part of.
FUND SOMETHING COOL
Our music is written collectively and played on live instruments. During each step of the creative process it is the image of the happy, sweaty, dancing-their-ass-off fan that drives us forward. The songs for this album are progressive and catchy. Lyrically they are both fun and meaningful. We’re confident you’re going to love it.
