And the Galloway Current: Current Article
ZOE and ALEX decide to spend a romantic weekend at The Ocean Manor Hotel, a famously death-ridden tourist attraction, situated on an island eight miles off the coast of New England. The Ocean Manor has stood through hurricanes and fire, shipwrecks and centuries. And as the hotel manager says, “With age comes history, with history comes death, and with death comes ghosts.”
Alex is skeptical. Zoe is a non-believer; but Zoe has a love for strange adventures and entertaining stories. But as their experiences in the hotel grow stranger, and the footsteps in the attic grow louder, their worldview begins to crack; and through those cracks the ghosts swoop in.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Haunted is a ghost story, mixed with comedy and existential crisis. Deviating from the traditional supernatural thriller, Haunted is about being drawn to life’s greatest unanswered questions. I think what fascinates everyone is the question behind ghosts, which is; what happens when we die? People find it difficult to accept things on faith, they love proof: proof that our consciousness will go on once our bodies are six feet under. If ghosts are real, the answer is yes. It's these questions that haunt Alex and Zoe.
We will be filming September 15-19, 2014 at the Oceanic Hotel, situated on the Isle of Shoals off the Coast of Portsmouth, NH. We are so excited to have this awesome location! It's used as a retreat center for writers, artists and families. They also host paranormal weekends and have been featured on the SyFy Channel's GHOST HUNTERS.
Also, Haunted is a sponsored project of FRACTURED ATLAS, which means any
donation you make to the campaign can be tax deductible!

WHERE THE MONEY GOES:
Our goal is $25,000, including in kind donations. We have already received well over $16,000 of in kind donations (such as equipment donations and crew members volunteering their time for free). As long as we reach our minimum of raising an additional $9,000, the project will move forward to production.
So here's where the money goes...
- Location Fees
- Housing Fees for Cast and Crew
- Food for the Cast & Crew (It's important to feed people!)
- Production Design (We need to bring in a lot of furniture, bedding, original artwork, props, etc. to create the perfect aesthetic.)

If you can't make a monetary donation it's also really helpful if you just share the link! The more people we get to view the campaign the better!
WHAT YOU GET:
First, you'll get a huge THANK YOU! Because you are awesome. I know crowd funding has become overwhelming, but it really has accomplished some wonderful things and opened doors for filmmakers to pursue their dreams. We will show our appreciation in a variety of ways including credit in the film, download of the film, featured extra roles, posters, postcards, signed books, associate producer credit, advance screenings, filmmaking 101 for people interested in learning about movie magic, VIP access to the NH Film Festival, set visits and more!
At the end of the day we want this to be a
funny, exciting and strangely haunting film. And, we hope to explore these themes
even deeper in the feature film, GHOST TOURS, which centers around the
characters of Alex and Zoe who find themselves in the midst two rival ghost
tour companies and a very angry deceased pirate. Think Ghostbusters or Cabin in the Woods, playing with the genre to do something scary and fun in a smart way.
Thank you so much for your consideration
and for your support of emerging artists!
If you have made it to the bottom, I love you. You win.
