Thank you for allowing us to reach our goal of raising money for our security deposit!!! Your additional contributions will enable us to pay our first month's rent and save one month's reserves as required by the nonprofit!
We are a group of new psychotherapy graduate trainees who will be joining Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Center (as MFT Interns pending registration) and launching a collaborative, reduced-fee holistic therapy practice. Trained in spiritual-transpersonal, body-oriented/somatic, and integral disciplines, we aspire to bring cutting edge therapy to everyone.
To toot our own horn, our professors and supervisors have pegged us as sharing something unique and special. We represent an exceptionally diverse cross-section of therapists--a variety of nationalities, races, genders, sexual orientations, and ages. "This group of students demonstrates an amazing level of self-awareness and is thus able to process and practice at a level far above most interns; they have a ripeness and maturity that astounds," said the Chair of our program, Ray Greenleaf.
Hence, we have banded together to integrate our skills, to collaborate personally and professionally in the mental health field, and to offer our unprecedented chemistry in service of healing in the Bay Area. We have signed on with Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Center, which has taken us under its wing to continue to train and supervise us. We have found beautiful, freshly renovated offices conveniently located by Lake Merritt, and we are bringing with us a core group of committed clients. We are days away from launching.
We need YOU to help set this vision in motion. Under the law interns cannot open their own practice, let alone fund it. However, as a nonprofit Grateful Heart can fundraise on our behalf to support our work and to help launch us into practice. Your contribution will go to Grateful Heart to kick start our practice and will support us in serving the larger community, providing therapy to those that otherwise might not afford it. It will enable us to offer sacred work that saves relationships and lives.
What We Need & What You Get
We need to raise at least $2400 by April 1. Before Grateful Heart receives any client fees from our work, it must pay for the security deposit for our offices. If we raise any funds beyond $2400, these will go towards our first month's rent and administrative reserves. We have secured beautiful offices but cannot yet afford them without client fees. We do have enough clients to ensure that we will be able to pay the subsequent monthly rent and fulfill our lease. However, it's the initial start-up hurdle with which we need your help.
For the past year, we have been volunteer MFT trainees, seeing clients at the JFK Counseling Center. These clients will be continuing with us to the new location starting April 1. Please contribute now to ensure continuity of treatment and care for these individuals and families by helping us secure our offices.
Your contribution is 100% tax deductible!
***If you make a gift of $50 or more, you will receive a copy of The Blue Day Book--it's not therapy but we guarantee it will lift your spirits!
Your contribution to Grateful Heart casts a vote of confidence in us and in the work we have chosen. And, because you likely know at least one of us, you will be endorsing that which you see as an innate talent in us--to listen, to be present and to heal. By supporting Grateful Heart, you support us, and by supporting us, you support everyone we serve. Trickle down.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you cannot help financially at this time, there may be other ways you can help:
- get the word out and make some noise about our campaign--forward it to individuals who might be able to contribute
- let others know about Grateful Heart (www.gratefulhearttherapy.org) and refer clients to us
- donate art supplies and toys for therapy with children; please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org).
