Why WE support Ross

We are a coalition of individuals, organizations and businesses that believe the outcome of Ross Ulbricht's case is tremendously important for the future of Internet freedom, user privacy and cryptocurrency regulation.  We also believe that Ross has been unfairly portrayed as a man who planned murder, even though he was not indicted in NY for five of the six “hits” and the final claim, in MD, has not been proven.  Instead the prosecution has fed the press accounts of murder-for-hire plots and used them to deny Ross bail, despite there being no record of any murder occurring.  This has created a cloud of suspicion over Ross’ innocence and has impacted his ability to marshal the support he needs from the Internet.

We want to help provide financial support for his legal counsel so that Ross and his family can mount the defense he needs to overcome the government's determination to convict him of crimes that we believe are legally unsubstantiated and morally innocuous.

But ultimately this case represents more than just the guilt or innocence of one man. We believe it could serve as a precedent-setting moment and preserve a wide berth to government control over personal data, Internet entrepreneurship and cryptocurrency use.

After costs for perks and production are covered, all contributions will be given directly to the Ross Ulbricht Legal Defense Fund for the legal costs they are incurring on a daily basis. A proper criminal defense is not cheap and we want to help the Ulbricht family offset a portion of their expenses with a modest goal of $20,000.  But more would certainly be appreciated!

The Goal, the Rewards

This will be a unique case in the annals of legal history, so we have decided to provide some unique perks for contributors.

Aside from the typical t-shirts, keychains and posters, we are offering a Raspberry Pi, Tor browsing bundle known as an Onion Pi; and for more generous donors a brand new Replicator 2.0 3D Printer by Makerbot signed by 3D manufacturer and innovator, Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed and the Dark Wallet project.

The grassroots t-shirt you will receive.

The Onion Pi you will receive for your internet viewing pleasure.

And for our most generous donors a Brand new Replicator 2.0 by Makerbot signed by this guy...

Cody Wilson  of Defense Distributed and Dark Wallet

We hope that the Internet community will join us in our support of Ross. We believe that if given a fair trial, Ross can prove to everyone that he is worth your support.  Help US, help Ross and his family and in turn help free the market so that the Internet and new technologies will not be subject to the control of the government, big banks and their drug cartel allies.
