What the w$#% is Fornicated?
You know how hearing llve music events can make you feel something indescribable?
You know when you want to ask the characters on your favorites series what they're doing next?
You know how the technology in your hand can feel both powerful and overwhelming?
So do we.
Fornicated links these seemingly disparate feelings. Fornicated starts on your phone, leads you to a theatrical music festival, and takes you beyond with a new community-building app.
We are building a NEW theater. A digital stage. We need your donations to build out the technology. We have been training invisible performers. Actors who perform incredibly specific work through a computer and through a texting platform we've built. We have developed the storytelling that leads audience from these interactions to live experiences. The digital stage is not where it ends. Its where it begins.
Fornicated is an immersive digital and live show. Its a social-media concept album. Its a nuanced miniseries of music fans that you're inside of. Its a multi-media marketing campaign. Its a unique web of stories woven through a live music festival.
Fornicated is the dancing sweat of a rock audience, the jolt of adrenaline a text from that person shocks you with, and the held breath of a life-changing theatrical moment.
Its about the power of live experience amidst a world filled with technology.
How do I experience this crazy thing?
Right? This is precisely what brings you and us together here on Indiegogo.
We're a group of New York based artists and producers who have worked in theater, film, and music. You are someone who we hope to introduce to Fornicated (wherever you are), but for that we need your help. We want to be in your city. On your phone. And at the concerts of your favorite bands.
We started building the live portion in 2009 to re-imagine the traditional idea of a live rock show. Then we added text messages to your phone. Then we birthed characters living online. And then it exploded. We found ourselves crafting the Livecode that can bring audiences from a digital story to a live music experience. We've built technologies from scratch. We've explored the nuances of digital characters becoming live. It has become a whole new extraordinary ballgame.
However, with each development of Fornicated our audience has exceeded the scale of our technology. So now we have a mission. We want to bring you from your phone to a pulsating-live and ultimately, sustainable community - what we're calling, "a beat." A beat contains the shared experience of a community and band forged through a final concert. A beat you can continue to connect to through our app.
This is a platform that could truly link live music and technology into a movement.
So why indiegogo? Why now?
Great question! (We are totally on the same wavelength.) The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council has given us a residency to incubate Fornicated. They too believe that we are on to something. Our next step involves traveling across the country to research the organizational components of music festivals, meet with technology developers in Silicon Valley to design an app, and put together our own research week in New York City in which we bring specialists in the music, technology, and producing industries to consult with.
This is when we need your help. To make this critical development stage possible. Company start-up fees, organizational materials, and technology development, add up and we need to take this first step to bring Fornicated larger funding and resources in our next phase. Your $1 can become $1000 for us tomorrow. $50 for a tank of gas will power us toward the future of this endevour. Or even go towards a few hours of programming our cutting edge technology. Think what $100 could do...
