What is FMLY Fest?
In short, FMLY Fest is a collective expression of a cooperative creative community: an all ages Do-It-Together arts and music festival. Since 2009 it has brought together tens of thousands of people from around the world. Thus far the fest has taken place in LA, NYC, Orlando, Boston, and Phoenix, as well as a cross country round robin tour. In LA the fest brings together hundreds of musicians and artists for an enormous two day celebration, drawing around 6,000 attendees a year. In 2011 it became the first truly independent solar powered music festival. NYC hosts a slew of workshops, panels and open discussions (not to mention all the bands, artists and zines.) Phoenix is a free block party. No matter how the festival manifests, at it's core it is an explosive representation of each cities' unique creative community.

What We Need & What You Get
FMLY Fest is brought to the community by the community. All planning is done through open, inclusive meetings. We operate free of budget, greasy corporate sponsorship, commodification or objectification. The lion's share of the work is done through sheer people power and mutual enthusiasm. But we still need some cold hard cash to cover the costs of throwing a festival at this scale.
$750 for venue rental
$250 for a PA
If we exceed our fundraising goal the rest of the money will go to art supplies and making sure we're able to pay the bands well.

From Noah Klein, co-founder of the FMLY collective and all around brilliant dude.
"FMLY Fest is first and foremost a celebration of local arts movements, highlighting various projects which have taken strides towards making our cities safer and more constructive environments. A look into the festival's history is an exploration of the potential for creative dissent in the development of new paradigmatic examples. In addition to hosting hundreds of musicians over the last half-decade our schedule has encouraged the proliferation of safer spaces, agricultural sustainability, and self-publishing amongst much else. Our organizational model decentralizes the role of facilitator into a series of working groups, promoting co-organization and a truly democratic practice. By understanding this context the festival itself becomes a celebration of the process, asserting that a model of Doing-It-Together (D.I.T.) is a viable practice for the economic and social growth of independent arts communities as long as we enter into our projects with communication and purposeful intent. The more chances that we have to bring a global community into this, the more there is to give back, and that's all we're in this for."
