FIRST World Championships - A First for this International School in Bulgaria

The HS robotics team of the Anglo-American School of Sofia is off to the championships in the USA and needs your help to fly, sleep, eat, & build with new parts

Help us Get to the World Championships

We are the AAS Pentakills from the Anglo-American School of Sofia in Bulgaria.  This is only our 3rd year in existance and we are very happy and excited to have the opportunity to go to St. Louis! We were invited by winning the Inspire Award at the Central and Eastern European School's Association (CEESA) First Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics tournament held in Bucharest Romania.  Our team consists of 4 members: Kendra from Germany, Georgi from Bulgaria, Kavya from India and Theodore from Bulgaria.  Ms. MacDonald and Mr. Wolf are our coaches, they are both from the US and also our teachers at school.

We never thought that we would have the opportunity to go to the World Championships and we (nor our school) budgeted for it, therefore we need financial help to pay for our flights, food, local transit and more robot parts.

What We Need & What You Get

We are trying to raise at least $2000 to make this happen and recover some of the cost that we have already borrowed. Here's a breakdown of our significant pending costs:

  • Flights to the USA ($5500)
  • Supplies to modify and strengthen our robot ($600)
  • Local transport & remaining accomodation fee ($750)

To show our appreciation of donations, we will offer (depending on amount):

  • Your name on our website as a contributor
  • Thank you letter and championship recap
  • AAS Pentakill team bumper sticker
  • Your name posted in our pit at the championships
  • A chance to drive our robot
  • A DVD of our documentary "Pentakills at the World Championship"
  • Your name worn on our team t-shirts
