Now in its 4th year, the Fashion Law Institute’s unique annual summer intensive program, fondly known as Fashion Law Bootcamp, has been a phenomenal success. Designers, fashion industry executives, lawyers, students, and others in the U.S. and abroad have joined us to expand their knowledge of the law and business of fashion. Our Bootcampers have come from fashion houses as famous as Marc Jacobs and from every continent except Antarctica. However, every year there are great people who are admitted but cannot attend – and that's where you can help!

Send a designer to Fashion Law Bootcamp!

This campaign will cover the tuition for one designer (or more!) who would like to learn more about the business and legal side of fashion by attending Fashion Law Bootcamp. In classes with the Fashion Law Institute's founder, Professor Susan Scafidi, and illustrious guest instructors from throughout the industry, the recipient of this scholarship will gain a working knowledge of such important topics as

  • Fashion design protection,
  • Local manufacturing,
  • Fashion financing,
  • International trade,
  • Employment issues from designers to models,
  • Green fashion,
  • And much, much more!

Swag for you

In addition to the good feelings that come with making Fashion Law Bootcamp possible for a designer in need, contributors will receive official Fashion Law Institute merchandise, most of which has only been available to speakers or Bootcamp attendees.

Donors who cover at least the cost of a single tuition will also receive a range of sponsorship benefits, including a featured spot on the Fashion Law Institute's website and in media communications.

Too much success?

If you help us exceed our goal and support more than one scholarship, we’ll offer additional assistance to fashion designers, their full-time employees, or others in need. Every dollar you contribute will go to a full or partial scholarship to Fashion Law Bootcamp. Your contributions are tax-deductible - less the value of the perks, of course, which will be noted in our acknowledgement letter for your thoughtful gift!

The Fashion Law Institute is the world’s first center dedicated to law and the business of fashion. A nonprofit organization created with the generous support and advice of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and its president, Diane von Furstenberg, and based at Fordham Law School, the Institute offers training for the fashion lawyers and designers of the future, provides legal services for design students and professionals, and shares information and assistance on issues facing the fashion industry. Professor Susan Scafidi, who pioneered the field of fashion law, founded the Institute and serves as its academic director.
