About the Campaign:
From Aaron Allard and James Lafleur, the filmmakers that brought you Hotel Torgo, a documentary chronicling the film Manos: The Hands of Fate, and the surreal dark comedy Umbrella of Damocles, comes the heightened, stylized world of Even the Horses Had Wings.
Even the Horses Had Wings is the story of a naive teenage girl struggling to dream in a grim household that controls every element of her life. The film explores Daisy's realities and dreams as she tries to cope with her parents' overbearing religious fervor, the relationship with her lover, and some unexpected news.
The money raised through this campaign will allow Aaron and James the freedom to explore original, strange, and personal stories not usually told. Their goal is to tell this story with a unique and layered shooting style, visually heightened locations, and actors with real character. Honing in on a singular vision is the key element to making this film a success and Aaron and James strive to not compromise that vision in any way.
What your donations mean:
Your support will ensure us the freedom from the limitations of low-budget filmmaking and help us to fund the missing elements of our production.
The money raised will go towards such necessities as equipment rentals (e.g. lighting, sound recording), make-up, production design, location rental, transportation costs to our locations (e.g. gas, parking, TTC), and any future film festival entry fees.
The cast and crew involved are all amazing and talented people who've spent many years actively working in the film industry as well as having worked with us to great success on past projects.
