Let's go straight to the facts:
Hello, my name is Lee Scanlon, founder and president of End of the Vine
Wine. Along with our marketing director, Autumn Mills, we have a new way to view wine. Of course, the wine business is romantic; but let's not forget it is a business, and a tough one at that. Between Autumn and I, we have accumulated many years of experience and a wealth of hard work to bring us to this point: End of the Vine Wine.
During this time we have encountered many small wineries across the country that produce wines of exceptional quality yet struggle to sell their inventory. This is a common marketing issue when faced with the competition, with over 5500 bonded wineries just in California you can imagine this is an upstream paddle for those without serious backing. First, many wineries over produce so they have excess wine that was being sold off to large conglomerates that blend the wines into some bland, over-manipulated concoction. Secondly, we have found that winemakers are not marketers, all their energy goes into making the wine, where you want it, so sales lag. This is where we come into the picture. It is our mission to buy these artisanal, hand made wines, bottle them under EOV label and market them to their full potential at a value price. Everyone wins !!! You get to drink fantastic, unadulterated wine at a reasonable price, the winemaker gets paid fairly for their effort and we get to distribute fine wines and bring the process full circle. The best news is we've done our homework. These wines are made with little or no manipulation, no chemicals, made using the best, time tested, true wine making techniques, as wine should.
Who are we?:
Lee Scanlon: Lee started his hospitality career in the 70's when he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Since then he has worked as a chef for many years up and down the east coast: La Cremalliere in Banksville, NY, La Mirabelle, Ga and as Executive Restaurant Chef at the Washington DC Hilton to name a few. Realizing his interests reached beyond just the kitchen, he decided to try his hand at brewing, founding and operating Steamship Brewing Company in Norfolk, Virginia, one of the first micro-breweries in the mid-Atlantic region. Finally, since 1998 he settled into the wine business as a wine distributor. He holds a Certified Sommelier certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers and have traveled extensively throughout Europe and the US sourcing fine wines.
Autumn Mills, our marketing director, has also been in the hospitality business her entire career, with a focus on marketing and sales. She fell in love with all things wine and food, achieving her Level One Certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers. She successfully opened two retail wine shops and a wine bar that focused on small production, boutique wines. Like Lee, she has a passion for traveling and seeking out fine and affordable wines and is thrilled to be a part of this project.
What We Need & What You Get:
To bring this concept to it's full potential, we need your help and for that help we are offering some great incentives. You may be asking yourself, at this point, "How are my funds being dispersed?" To fully appreciate our concept, you must first appreciate the large amount of capital and time involved in running a small production winery. We have all hear the old adage "How to you get a small fortune?" Well, in the winery business, it is generally starting with a big fortune. Winemaking is a labor of love and one that rarely offers instant gratification. This is our "secret weapon" At End of the Vine, we will be able to offer advance funds in exchange for much reduced pricing to bring these gems to market. We have the connections and the knowhow, and in order to expand our market, we need additional funds to make these advance purchases and inventory the wine. Once we own the wine we then have to bottle it, label it, ship it, and market it, all costly endeavors.
For your generous donation, we are offering some great incentives. Wine glasses, corkscrews, T-shirts and most importantly wine. There are many levels at which you can give. We thank you in advance for your contribution. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
MAKES A UNIQUE HOLIDAY GIFT !! We bet no one else on your gift list will be getting an Indiegogo project investment.

is wine. We buy it, we sell it, we bottle it, we collect it, we trade it, and we drink it, copious amounts of it. We love wine a lot. That’s why we hate to see what is happening to wine. We can’t stop big business from making “plonk” winespeak for manipulated wine, but we can give the wine drinker a choice and experience that lets you know the difference. Pure wine is better tasting, better for you, better for the family winemakers, and better for the earth.
Once you know the difference and taste the
difference, we are sure you will agree. Real wine is best.
