Eagle Scout Service Project

To build a hay feeder for the malnourished cows at Tradewinds park in South Florida.

I'm a Boy Scout with Troop 238 in Lighthouse Point, Florida. I am currently a Life Scout working to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, but there's one final requirement: a service project. Every Eagle Scout must create a project, propose it to the board, raise all the funds, and build it myself. As you can see, this is a huge task and I need all the help I can get.

The project I'm doing is building a hay feeder with a shade structure for the cows at Tradewinds park in Pompano Beach. The cows are currently eating hay meant for horses, which is making them incredibly fat. Hay for the cows only comes in large, round bales. If left on the ground in the open, these bales will rot or get moldy and bug infested. I have to build a structure that keeps it off the ground and out of the elements so that they can have good, clean hay. I have drawn up plans and the coordinators are backing it, but the one thing I'm missing is the funds to complete it.

Hopefully, with your help, I will be able to complete this project and achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
