The sexual revolution of the 1960’s was just that, a revolution. It actually changed the way people thought. And you know what drove that revolution? Yep, the music. Songs have the ability to set into motion a certain type of thinking. When Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” he was doing the same thing – changing the way people thought. So what if there was an album that helped change the way people thought about life, about God, about each other? And what if that album brought people hope? And what if it went beyond that and gave a voice to those who had no voice, to the least of these?
In September I began writing this album, and I couldn’t be more excited about these songs. And now it’s time to record the album and get it out to the world. I’m an independent artist, but being independent doesn’t necessarily mean I can do it alone. In fact, I can’t. And I think that’s the way it was meant to be. We were meant to need each other. I believe this album is something the world should hear, and I would be honored if you would join me in the process of making that happen.
You want the nitty gritty? Oh ok… Keep on reading… (A.D.D.? Maybe you just watch the video :D)
Making an album aint cheep you know! A record label budgets anywhere from $60k and beyond for the recording of an album. Because I have my own studio and produce most of my own music I am able to save a lot of money. However, there’s still much cost involved. I’ve got to hire the musicians, additional producers, engineers, programmers, editors, a dude to mix the album, and then get it mastered. It all adds up. So we need $35,000 to record the album, but in order to get the music and message out to the world ,and properly promote it, through compelling video content, touring, publicity, etc. we need to raise another $100,000! Yep, that’s right, a total of $135,000 to really do it right.
(By the way, if we don't raise AT LEAST $35,000 then your contributions are refunded and we don't record this album.)
Making a really great album is really the best thing I can do to repay you for your involvement. BUT, as a way to say thank you, we’ve set up some super fun perks. Everything from early releases of the album with exclusive tracks, to me doing a private show at your house, to you spending a day with me in my studio, or even a trip for two to Brazil!
Can’t contribute financially, but still want to be a part? We’d love it if you would help spread the word. Tell somebody! Or everybody.
“We weren’t meant to do this alone.”
