Note: any contributions that go past our goal of 1500$ will go directly into paying for the transport of our set design and puppets overseas to France in November!

*Update*

After presenting our show to the public last week, for 5 amazing shows, we are happy to say that we are grabbing some rest after an insane 6 months of hard work on our project! We're also both very happy with the result and received a lot of positive feedback which is gratifying. We are really hopeful as to bringing our show to various other places in the next years, including France next year (we are going to be shipping our set overseas)! We are very grateful for the kind words, support, and contributions that you have made to this project.
On another note, our Indiegogo project still has 20 days left and we've almost reached half of our goal already!
Any past or future contributions will go directly to the production costs of our show, and any contributions that go past our goal will go into paying for the transport of our set overseas to France. Here is a specific breakdown of where your contributions have gone or will go:
– Materials for puppets: 210
– Suitcases and elements of furniture for our set: 280
– Wood to build the set design: 200
– Clocks and other set accessories: 100
– Fabrics and other costume accessories: 140
– Hairsprays for 5 shows & 2 photo/video dress rehearsals: 190
– Random materials (glue, hardware, etc): 50
– Campaign fees: 350

A huge thank you to each and every one of you. We couldn't do it without you!
If you want to hop on and get your own little handmade creative perk, there's still time left!

The story

In a strange dream-like world, two twin sisters return to their childhood home. Their room is full of memories that they relive with the help of their old doll-puppets. This surrealistic secretive world is a place where dreams, fantasies and reality intertwine and stowed-away secrets are revealed.

Project details

We are both finishing a graduate degree in contemporary puppet theater in Montreal, and our final project is a puppet theater project called Broken Lace. It is 15 minutes long and will be presented to the public from the 12th to the 15th of June, in French (though in the future, we would also like to have an English version of the play).

As co-creators of this play, we are both fully invested in each part of the creative process: we created it, wrote it, are building, sewing, painting, directing and puppeteering it. It is a highly personal project that we deeply care about. We both love worlds that are surrealistic, dreamlike and strange and that also touch on important issues. Puppets allow us to explore these worlds and to intertwine dreams, fantasies and reality, drawing upon symbolism in order to speak deeper truths about connection, love, loss, and secrets.

What we need and what you get

Your help will greatly contribute to this project, allowing us to purchase the necessary materials for the production of our piece. Thanks to you, we will be able to create a play that is visually striking and emtionally engaging.

All the money will go directly into the production costs for our play: the wood, the fabrics needed to finish the costumes, suitcases, other props, paint, wallpaper, as well as the makeup and hairdos we need in order to look like twins! Any contribution is greatly appreciated, and if you can not contribute financially, you can still help us alot by sharing this Indiegogo project on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media you are on!

In exchange for your contributions, we have prepared plenty of exciting perks for you: magnets with images and drawings linked to our play, a choice of beautiful bronze necklaces with images from the play inset into the cameos (you choose any image from our gallery), tickets for our show, tote bags, mini-sculptures of strange animal trophy heads, as well as personnalized puppets!

(Please see images of these perks in the gallery)

A little more about us
