KIN CAIN- CROSSING THE LINE
Crossing The Line-songs from the War Zone -is a collection of songs that i wrote while in war zones around the world. Most war zones were conflicts of armies. Some were in court rooms and others on the streets.
These songs speak of moments in our lives, when we realize that your next act, can never be undone. we will never be who we were.Within a single thought you "cross the line" that divides reality and morality.
These songs were written in prison both real and imagined
I recorded my first CD 20 years ago and I planned to continue my music career..It was at that time, that I was made aware of the issues of ownership of native songs and intellectual property rights. I decided to drop my music career and use my time to help resolve the legal issues around this. For the next twenty years, I devoted my life to the preservation and restoration of native songs.
Now I am ready to record my next album entitled - Crossing the Line and I need your help
In the next three months I will record, mix, master, manufacture, and release my first solo album. This album will consist of 14 new songs. It also comes with a commitment on my part to promote the album as a full-time job and tour tirelessly to support it.
I have spent the last ten years acquiring techniques, to record these songs, using forgotten audio technology.
This CD will be recorded in analog format.
This CD will be produced without using software or any other digital media, with the exception of transferring to digital format in order to manufacture the CD.
I want to undertake this project independently, and now I am ready to begin
So What needs to be Done?
Bringing this CD to completion will take at least $8,000 and here's how that breaks down:
$4500 Ten days with engineer/producer
days in a studio for additional tracking
$2000 Three session players for overdubs
$1350 CD Replication

Can't Spare a Dime, but Still Wanna Help?
I would LOVE that! It really does take a village to promote a recor
d. Here are some ideas:
Help me PROMOTE online and in person.
Please do post, tweet, email, text and otherwise share this link to as many folks as possible. This goes for the fundraising project as well as the album once it is released.
Check your NETWORK for influential friends.
I will be sending the CD to any and all musical big-shots I know, but my network is only so big. Perhaps you know someone who might like my music and be able to help take it to the next level?
Feel free to DEMAND that my music be played and sold everywhere.
This can be as simple as calling up your favorite radio station and requesting my songs, or suggesting it to a retailer. Obviously this is most effective on a local level, but who knows? Sometimes all you have to do is ask. You can also book me to play a local venue or even at your house for an intimate concert.
