ABOUT
‘Corvidae’, starring Maisie Williams (‘Game of Thrones’), is a short, silent pastoral horror film written and directed by Tom de Ville. It's already been shot and is now raising funds to complete post-production.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
We have self-financed the full 5-day shoot, in multiple locations shooting on an Arri Alexa, as well as working in a green screen studio with wire work and a live crow!

We now need to complete the film, and although the edit is in the final stages we still need funds to complete all the VFX work and the rest of the post-production.

The funds we are asking for will be split across the VFX, the colour grade, the music, titles, sound design and all the ancillary costs associated with top level festival submissions like Sundance and Cannes as well as promoting the film.

WHY CONTRIBUTE? WHY CORVIDAE?
In an age where the horror genre conjures up images of cheap slasher movies, we wanted to make a film with backbone, which is spine tingling yet rooted in a real living heritage of pastoral horror.

Everyone we approached was instantly drawn in to the story, the genre and the vision.

Be a part of an ambitious short film, which has already been shot and is halfway through post production. This is a chance of a lifetime to get involved with a high potential project of epic proportions.

THE STORY
Corvidae is a dark fairy tale about a young girl who loves birds, and the very strange thing that happens when she tries to protect a wounded crow from the boys in her village. Rooted in the tradition of pastoral horror it is a short, silent film.

THE CREATIVE TEAM

Tom de Ville
Writer & Director
Tom created, wrote and directed episodes of the horror anthology TV series ‘Urban Gothic’ for Channel 5 when he was 23.
His first feature script ‘The Quiet Ones’ was chosen as one of Variety’s top unproduced British scripts in 2007 and was picked up by Hammer Films the following year. It is currently in production with John Pogue directing.

More recently, he has co-created two new feature projects with acclaimed music video director Corin Hardy. ‘The Good People’ is currently being developed by Occupant Films in Los Angeles and ‘Frogz Legz’ is being developed by Brilliant Films in the UK.

Alexander Wolpert
Producer - Wolfheart Productions
Alexander trained at Drama Centre as an actor and has worked with Complicite and Globe Education. He has worked on new writing projects at the Soho Theatre and Jerwood Space.

Alexander founded Wolfheart two years ago. As well as working on various British projects he is also collaborating with a production company in LA on a new documentary as well as developing a new TV series with the award-winning Icelandic director Jon Gunnar.

Alexander has just finished working on the first installment of ‘The Fields’, a mini-series centering on the plainclothes Police teams in Hackney, which he researched extensively over the past 2 years. GRM Daily has just released ‘The Fields’ online. ‘In Absence’ a short drama, has begun the festival circuit worldwide starring Oliver Cotton and Charity Wakefield. Wolfheart have just successfully reached their funding target for a music film starring Alex Vlahos from ‘Merlin’.

Nick Hudson
Producer - Cat and Weasel Films
Nick began his career at NBC Universal, where he was responsible for marketing activities in the company's German-speaking territories. He helped market such hit shows as 30 Rock, True Blood and Flashpoint. For his work organising the legendary Shocking Shorts Award™ at the Munich Film Festival, he was awarded “Promax BDA World Gold”, “MIRA” and “Eyes and Ears of Europe” awards.

Since then he has produced a number of music videos and short films including ‘Pickin’ Up Poop!’, ‘The Fields’ and ‘Help Point’. His first feature-length film, ‘Everyone’s Going To Die’, was premiered at SXSW 2013 to great reviews.

Nick has been running London-based Cat and Weasel Films since 2011. Cat and Weasel’s first feature-length film, ‘The Fixer’, is scheduled for production early next year.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE RAISE MORE THAN OUR TARGET?
If we raise more than our target, we'll get even better VFX and even better music. Oh, and 15% of funds raised above our target will be donated to a charity of Maisie Williams' choice.
