A HUSTLE IS FUELED BY A HUNGER, AN UNAVOIDABLE DESIRE
Whatchu hungry for? We're here to feed you. Check the recipe:
Music is a powerful thing. It’s a tool. It’s magic. It’s food. The messages we feed ourselves have life and power. We’re gonna nourish you.
The Colored Girls Hustle Hard Mixtape is an adventure in creating movements -- in our bodies, in our spirits, with our voices. By using powerful beats and powerful words, we’re inspiring audacious self-expression, authentic living and bold movements in the world. We combine our lived experiences as Black women with the bravado, swag, and pride of hip-hop to honor who we are and who we’re becoming. We tell our own stories, making songs about courage, health and wellness, community building, living outside of a box, and integrity. We’re making music that celebrates our funky-fresh boldness! Who else is rapping about Black women’s self-love over a Rick Ross beat?!
We need your help to raise $10,000 to complete the Colored Girls Hustle Hard Mixtape.
Donations, large and small, move us toward our goal, so give what you can! And encourage others to support this project too. We appreciate your support.
After we successfully complete our fundraising campaign, the Mixtape will be available to everyone for FREE download following its release.
Your contributions help pay for the following:
After we write our bars, we gotta get into the studio to record. Our fundraising efforts will help pay for studio space and time to work with a producer.
Like any mixtape we’re using the instrumentals from popular music for our rhymes. In order to legally use these instrumentals, we need to pay to license them for our music. Our fundraising efforts will help pay for these fees.
ARTIST FEES & GUEST COLLABORATIONS
We believe that people should be compensated for doing work they love. While we hustle from the heart, artists have to eat too! Our fundraising efforts will support the creative process and genius that makes this project possible including honorariums for guest artists who join on us on a track.
This is our album booklet, complete with lyrics, affirmations and original artwork with a funky fresh zine twist! Our successful fundraising efforts will pay for a graphic designer and for limited edition printed copies. The zine will be available for free online download when the Mixtape is released.
PUBLICITY & MARKETING
What’s a Mixtape without an audience?! Our fundraising efforts will support our promotion materials and administration to ensure that the Mixtape reaches as many people as possible.
Share this journey with us. Be part of our hustle. Take action to make this mixtape possible.

ABOUT YA GURLS
Our story goes way back, past the first track. We've been friends for almost ten years and we've always had a festive friendship. When we go out, we're ready to turn a party up. We stay on the dancefloor, going in till the break of dawn. It's because we have a sincere love for hip-hop and for each other. And we’re Black women who care about what’s going on in the world, how it impacts our lives, our communities, and our possibilities. When we come together, we affirm who we are and have fun too. And that’s what the Colored Girls Hustle Hard Mixtape is all about. With your help, we're completing the Mixtape in the spirit of sisterhood, entrepreneurship, courage and creativity.
Holla at ya gurls!
