Friends of the game are helping young men and women in China  discover lacrosse. We promote its development and are assembling the first Chinese team to participate in an FIL World Lacrosse Championship. Help us get to Denver in July, 2014.

China Lacrosse Needs Your Support!

Lacrosse is catching on in China! Local clinics encourage young men and women to learn the game. Clubs have been established in numerous universities. Players in Shanghai and Beijing have competed with visiting teams and, this April, we sent our teams to the Hong Kong Lacrosse Open.   Our next stage involves a first appearance competing in the FIL World Championships.

Participating in Denver will provide our players an experience of a lifetime. They will become ambassadors for the sport across China and be the leaders that develop local lacrosse organizations. They will ignite expansion in China.

These activities are privately funded by people who simply love the game. No government support has been available, but you can personally impact this movement by being a part of the group that sends China's very first team to Denver. Donate to this campaign!

Athletes like Gao Zhiqiang  have absorbed the game and play it with passion. The video tells how they feel about playing for China!  They are  becoming the core group  of experienced Chinese players who will carry the sport forward.

Many young women have become extremely enthusiastic participants: over 50% of the interest in China comes from young women. We are expanding  opportunities for Women's Lacrosse and took a women's team to participate in the Hong Kong Lacrosse Open.

Players of Chinese descent participate in North American collegiate lacrosse.  Several of these, like Michael Tsiang, Jon and Matt Bailey, Tyler Buchan and Dylan Bassham, have spent time in China playing in tournament games and helping to create greater excitement for lacrosse.  We look to these experienced players to provide support and encouragement for Team China.

Sixteen provinces of China are represented among the player candidates for Denver.  Students from many universities are involved:  Tongji University, Shanghai University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and East China Normal University (in Shanghai) to name a few.

Profiles of our Denver player candidates are shown on

Donations Make This Team Possible

The challenge of organizing a team is enormous. Transportation, lodging and outfitting the players require a considerable amount of money.

Our crowd-funding goal of $30,000 only provides a portion of our needs. Players and families will still carry a sizable share of the burden and our coaches/managers will contribute their time and effort. Your support for China Lacrosse  is needed  make it all happen.

Give our athletes a chance to play amongst the best in the world and to meet other pioneers representing their nations. Make a donation now and be recognized as part of this history-making campaign.

What You Get for Donating

We offer several interesting awards for donations at various levels.

The helmet above, and the gloves shown below, are official gear for Team China. A limited number can be claimed for donations. Other items such as China Lacrosse  T Shirts,  practice jerseys and  polo shirts will be shown on our Facebook page or on!

The primary reward is knowing you are supporting a giant step forward for China lacrosse. An individual or corporation making a major contribution will be recognized for their very special role in  supporting lacrosse in China.

The Impact of Team China 2014

Lacrosse will be the next significant addition to the Olympic games. Sending a pioneering team to Denver will create tremendous attention for lacrosse in China and launch a phase of really serious growth.
