Experience the inspirational stories of Brits who have crossed the pond to live the California Dream. This richly-illustrated coffee table volume features the stories and portraits of an eclectic mixture of British people from all walks of life who have followed their aspirations and hopes to the City of Angels. From actors to acrobats, butlers to boxers, the stories of those who left home for the adventure of Los Angeles will inspire, entertain, and move you.
To continue this labour of love, we simply need to cover the print costs for this limited first edition. Approximately ninety-six pages of stunning portraits and fascinating stories published on luxurious stock, California Dreaming will be a magnificent conversation piece for any home.
The subjects of California Dreaming are as diverse and surprising as Los Angeles itself. They include Nigel Lythgoe (producer of American Idol and executive producer/judge for So You Think You Can Dance), Zandra Rhodes (acclaimed fashion designer for Diana, Princess of Wales and Freddie Mercury, amongst others), Lucy Davis (actress in The Office and Ugly Betty), the Atherton twins (Cirque Du Soleil acrobats), Ioan Gruffudd (actor in Titanic, Black Hawk Down, Fantastic Four), Audley Harrison (Olympic boxer), Alan Selka (celebrity butler to producer Robert Evans) and Steve Sidelnyk (drummer for Madonna, Tina Turner, and many others).

The photographer is living her own California Dream, and the subjects of her work were the inspiration for this project. Combining her passion for photography with her curiosity about what brought her fellow Brits to Los Angeles. After exhibiting in venues such as the Royal Academy of Arts in London, Dawn Bowery was drawn to the creative spirit and opportunity that Southern California has to offer. Her work has been exhibited at the Los Angeles Art Association and the California Open Exhibition. Her fine art photography is in private art collections around the world.
