Demo Gameplay - (Old Engine)
Caffeine is a first person psychological horror game.
You awaken as a young boy seemingly alone aboard a caffeine mining station in a distant solar system.
With no memory and no one around, you set off to explore the depths of this vast space station with the hope of finding out exactly what has transpired here.
Caffeine will primarily be a Sci-Fi Horror game, but at the same time employ a strong focus on both adventure and narrative and will include some smart puzzle game play.
There will be no weapons in Caffeine but you will be able to use the environment around you.
Scattered around the environment there are masses of notes, audio logs and clues to what the employees at the station were up to and what was going on in their lives, creating a great deal of lore for the world of Caffeine.
Caffeine started out as an Unreal Engine 3 game but is now being built upon the power of the brand new Unreal Engine 4 which gives me the freedom to push the limits of visual fidelity and game play.
Taking inspiration from Doom 3, Condemned and FEAR 2, Caffeine will create a chilling, often unsettling game with some amazing visuals and a great interesting storyline to go along with it.

Up until now Caffeine has been a pet project of mine that I have been working on in my spare time. It has gotten to the point where I want to make something of it and focus my full attention to the completion of a quality game.

The Year is 2097, the Earth is over-populated and is lacking resources.
The most consumed drug is caffeine and companies have countless outposts among the stars mining the resources required to quench the endless thirst of Earth's population.
Caffeine Will Include:
- Controller Support
- Oculus Rift Support
- Steroscopic 3D support
Mac & Linux
At this point in time Caffeine is being developed for Windows, but I am currently investigating the high possibility of a Mac and Linux version of the game, it will probably depend on the time it will require and of course funding.
Quite a few people have asked about a possible PS4 release, at this time there is no PS4 version in development, since that would require a Development Kit, and with that Sony’s permission but I wouldn't completely rule it out! I will let you all know if Sony happens to let me!
This is also a possibility and I am currently pursuing the likelihood of an Xbox One port.
Oculus Rift - UPDATED!
Caffeine will support the Oculus Rift on launch, allowing for unmatched immersion when exploring the world of Caffeine.
"Proof Of Concept" Demo
Recently with the release of an early "proof of concept" demo Caffeine has been garnering quite a bit of attention from the media and from gamers.

UPDATE: Brand new Unreal 4 based Demo released!
My name is Dylan Browne and I have been many things in recent years, from a visual effects supervisor to a poster designer. I like to think of myself as a young honest avid gamer who loves video games and even writes about them for a small site called The Palace Of Wisdom!
Enter Caffeine, a project of mine that I am very passionate about and wish to make an awesome immersive experience that will give the player a sense of fulfilment as the credits roll.
With your help I can work on Caffeine full-time for a release in early 2015, and make the game into a visually stunning quality title.
For Caffeine I am asking for the community to raise $80,000 AUD. The three areas this funding will go towards are:
- Funds to enable myself to work on Caffeine full-time to deliver a quality product in early 2015.
- Oculus Rift Dev Kit
- Fantastic sound design from Bay Drive Sound Studios (You have already heard their awesome work in a few of the trailers).
- And of course some awesome perks for the backers!
If Caffeine does not reach it's goal I will still be developing Caffeine, but only in my free-time, which will delay the release and probably affect the quality of the final product.
Most of the perks come with a digital copy of the game's fantastic soundtrack, composed by Adam Klingman of Bay Drive Sound Studios. This will be in the form of a digital download and will be delivered on release of the full game.
Starting with the Alpha Edition, perks come with alpha access before the release of the game, this will be in the form of a digital download and will have an NDA to help test the game before release.
Some perks come with a personalised sticky note message from me, this will be a high quality digital image and will be available before release as a download.
T-Shirts and Mugs
The later perks include Caffeine branded t-shirts and coffee mugs, these will be shipped towards the end 2014.
From the Producer perk upwards the shirts and mugs you receive will be limited edition designs and will differ from the standard ones.

The "Name In The Game" perk allows you to have your name included as a character's name which will be included in their notes, possibly audio logs and possessions.
The "Photo In The Game" perk allows you to have a photo of you (within good taste) included in the game as a photograph.
The "Voice In The Game" perk allows you to have your voice included in one of the many audio logs scattered throughout the station in the game.
