About Our Project and Who we are:

We're a group of independent filmmakers who value the significance of a strong community. We started this project volunteering with the Citizen’s Institute, http://citii.org, a non profit organization that is trying to improve the community of Vancouver by doing events and research on what is wrong and what can be improved in our daily lives.

We’ve been hearing rumors and opinions that Vancouver is a lonely and unfriendly city. And it might be some truth to that, but we firmly believe that it all depends on the people themselves. .

With this project we wish to encourage people to go out and get involved and be part of the community, we want to showcase the flaws and virtues of the community and help isolated individuals go out and meet new people.

Int terms of what we are actually doing, we will be casting interviews with people that have important things to say on the topic, finding economic data, following people who are new to Vancouver (primarily immigrants) and capturing their day to day life as they try to adapt to the Vancouver lifestyle and trying out various social experiments involving hidden cameras and polls.

This is not just a documentary, we are hoping it will break open the perception of people about Vancouver being unfriendly and raise awareness of not only this city but for other cities around the globe to take a look at their own communities and start more chapters of “Building communities”.

How your contribution will help

Your money will go towards:

Getting all the equipment necessary to expose how community works in Vancouver, we need special cameras and microphones to go out to the city, follow people and bring to you what’s really happening in the streets of Vancouver.

2.  Funding special events to help engage the community.

3.  Funding activities with no cost for the people that want to participate with Citii and us.

Other ways you can help:

We want you to be part of this journey, if you can’t donate but you know of special places where community gets together for activities or events of low cost, please contact us and tell us about what to do in the city, be part of this adventure!
