Welcome to Outdoor Project
We started Outdoor Project because something was missing from online adventure resources. We noticed that, while the internet is an amazing platform for sharing inspirational content, there was no site connecting people to the resources, planning guides, maps, outfitters, and community they need to explore the outdoors. We are fixing that. Outdoor Project starts with exceptional photography and adventure videos and adds our own custom maps and guides. Our members complete the picture. As a member, you become an integral part of a community of outdoor enthusiasts that is working together to explore the outdoors and share incredible experiences.
With a team of 30+ contributors, we currently offer over 1,000 adventures to search through along the West Coast of the US, but this is just a start.
With your help, we'll provide more West Coast adventure coverage where you want it. We've started the hard work of covering every trail, lake, river, mountain and campground in Oregon, Washington and California, and would like to do the same in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana and New Mexico within the next two years.
It's an ambitious goal, but as outdoor enthusiasts we all benefit. How often have you heard of an amazing place that you just have to visit, but no handy guide or resources exist to get you there and back? With every adventure on Outdoor Project, you don't just get the best guides and maps, you also get to see incredible imagery of these places, and you get to connect with your friends or outfitters to go with.
Our MissionAs lifetime adventurers, sharing our environmental and educational ethic through Outdoor Project is central to our cause. We believe in the age-old intrinsic value of connecting with Mother Nature. Our hope is that, by using Outdoor Project as your passport to outdoor adventure, you will also feel more connected to the natural world around you.
To go further, we created OutdoorProject.org, a non-profit whose mission is dedicated to supporting outdoor conservation and environmental education groups working in the areas where Outdoor Project has adventure coverage.
Join Outdoor Project as a Giving Member or Donor Member and your monthly donation goes toward some amazing partners doing great work.
With Your Help We'll Cover the US West
Your contribution toward our $50,000 goal will go directly into adding at least 500 adventures to Outdoor Project. More specifically, it will be used to fund key contributors in areas where you want more adventure coverage. We know it costs about $100 to produce each adventure on Outdoor Project. Anything we can raise beyond our goal will go into adding even more.
We realize 500 more adventures in these new areas is just a start, but with a few key contributors and 100 adventures in a specific area, we're able to attract a pool of additional contributors to keep adding to the site. We started in Portland with five contributors and 200 adventures. In less than a year we now have over 600 adventures in Oregon with 30+ photographers and videographers adding content. It's this success that we want to bring to every state, starting with this campaign to cover the US West.

01 Referral Prize
Refer our Indiegogo Campaign to everyone you know, and if you and all of your referrals contribute a total of $250 we’ll get you an adidas Outdoor or NW Alpine fleece hoody, like the ones below ($130 value), or any other adidas Outdoor/NW Alpine product in-stock of equal or lesser value.
If you help raise the most money (a min. of $300, by yourself and/or via your referrals), we’ll add on a $400 REI Gift Certificate.
Here’s how it works…
It’s actually pretty easy. For you to get your referrals tracked you just need to create an account on IG first. Steps are:
- Sign up/sign in to IG - It is super quick with a facebook account.
- Go to the top of the Indiegogo page and share via the share links (facebook, twitter, email, etc.). As long as you are logged in, your referrals will be tracked.
