The fetish fiend she can't quit. The parents who still treat her like a kid. Her over-protective brother. And a manic depressive friend from the psych ward. Why did they all have to show up on the same day?

a play by Lindsay B. Davis

directed by Isaac Scranton

WHERE IS BRATTLEBORO PLAYING? We are in the 2013 Midtown International Theater Festival! See us FRIDAY, July 26 at 6PM SATURDAY, July 27 at 4:30PM and SUNDAY July 28 at 7PM. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased on midtownfestival.org

WHAT IS BRATTLEBORO ABOUT? LORI, an aspiring writer living in NYC, is in an on-again-off-again relationship with JAMES, an investment banker. As LORI continues to see JAMES and attempts to hide the relationship from her protective, older brother VINCE and loving but intrusive parents, MR. and MRS. FRIEDMAN, all grow increasingly concerned by changes in her personality. Meanwhile, LORI has started blogging about her personal life and continues to be haunted by the memory of COREY, a manic depressive friend she met during her college years.

WHY ARE WE CROWD SOURCING? There are significant costs for producing a show like BRATTLEBORO that include renting rehearsal space, buying props, costumes, set pieces, transporting said props/sets/costumes to and from the theater, printing scripts and programs, marketing and promoting BRATTLEBORO by way of printing post cards and compensating the entire cast and creative production team.

WHO IS ON OUR TEAM? Under the direction of the brilliant Isaac Scranton, TEAM BRATTLEBORO includes:

MR. FRIEDMAN: J. Dollan Byrnes

LORI: Lindsay B. Davis

VINCE: Vincent Ford

COREY: Christina Toth

MRS. FRIEDMAN: Sue Wallack*

JAMES: Patrick Michael Wickham*

A Message from Director Isaac Scranton:

In the close-to-a-decade's time that's passed since meeting Lindsay Davis in an acting class in the basement of the Gene Frankel Theatre, I've been struck at the dramatic twists and turns her life has taken and how brilliantly she has turned them into the most insightful and inspiring art. Lindsay's mastery of the written word shows the messy, psychological S'mores of life as it truly is and takes us on a merry-go-round of hearty laughs, romantic heat and unstoppable tears.  This play is destined for greatness in its elegance and straightforward presentation of a mind peeled open.

Lindsay B Davis (PLAYWRIGHT/ACTRESS/PRODUCER). As a playwright, her original, produced short plays include SUSPENDED (Winner of Best Play award at the 2011 Richmond Shepard New Works Festival), TECHNO & TAROT (Winner of Best Play award at the 2013 Short Play Lab), REHAB (co-written with Brian Patrick Murphy and presented at the LAByrinth Intensive Ensemble Workshop), DEAR WONDERWOMAN (Presented at the Gene Frankel Theater), CORPORATE MELODY (Theater for New City LES Arts Festival) and BRATTLEBORO (nominated for Best Play at 2012 Strawberry Festival of One Acts). She is currently an Broadway/Off Broadway theater critic for Passport Magazine's The Broadway Blog. As an actress, Lindsay has over 10 years experience of professional acting/voice/movement training and performance in theater, independent films and TV.
