To captivate audiences around the world with humorous, educational and inspirational professional stage plays. Battered but not Broken, is the first of many written and starring Grammy Award Winning Ann Nesby of the Sounds of Blackness. After producting the play 8 times with great responses to the production, we now have the bug and are preparing for a national tour. With any production, we need your support to help fund the production.
I am Vice President of Milky Way Productions and the fiance of this phenomenal playwright Cynthia D. Wilson. I am excited to share this journey with her and to give her my full support. She is a gifted writer and she has poured her heart and soul into this riveting story of Justina and Sebastian Blessing. As a child justina will witness her mother being abused by a live in boyfriend. Justina and Sebastian are a middle class, educated couple that meet at a college party and it is love at first site. Like most relationships, they have their ups and downs. Soon after college they will marry and give birth to a daughter Katrina Blessing. Justina will soon discover that Sebastian is not what he seems to be. She will be betrayed in ways that will keep you on the edge of your seat. What does not kill her, will make her stronger. We have been asked to bring the production to several cities and we need initial financial support to launch the national tour. Shelly Garrett, directed the first 3 shows and grammy award winning Ann Nesby starred in the last four shows. To date, 8000 people have seen the production and we have received nothing but rave reviews. We have spent the last 14 months planning and testing the strength of the production and we are ready to take it to the masses. Cynthia has been writing for 13 years, winning many contest around the country.
Bishop T.D. jakes told Cynthia 18 years ago that he seen her with a ministry bigger than Billy Graham and she notes: This is it. As she ministers to young women and men every chance she gets. She was born clinically blind and shot and paralyzed at age 4 stemming from a domestic violence situation from the couple that lived upstairs. In 2010 she was diagnosed with cancer and told she only had 3 months to live. She is a fighter, today she is no longer blind and paralyzed and she is cancer free. While visiting Columbus she went to see the play Smothered Chicken and she was hooked. The play was so inspiring, she put pen to paper and in 3 months she had written this extraordinary production.
This campaign is very important to us, because Cynthia's 19 year old niece was shot 6 times and killed in 2008 by her boyfriend and she wrote the production to help other women, children and men affected by domestic violence. It is our goal to have a monument built in honor of all the victims of domestic homicide. *Rising Angels* Cynthia was also a victim of domestic violence and realizes how important it is to reach back and give her all to support others. We need your help to accomplish this goal and to help save lives, as well as educate our young people about the signs of domestic violence. Don't wait until domestic violence touches you or your loved ones. If it hasn't already you may know someone that has gone through it. Domestic violence has no socioeconomic, race, religion, gender or educational boundaries. What does a Batterer Look Like? Anyone. I urge you to get involved with a worthwhile project that you can proudly be apart of, for life.

It is my pleasure to write to you today to send you a letter of thanks and praise for your efforts to help bring the Milky Way Production of“Battered Not Broken” to the world. This project is one that has the ability and real potential to save millions of lives across the United States and I cannot thank you enough for your support. Words will never be enough, in fact to express my thanks and appreciation.
I am a survivor of domestic violence that was lucky enough to survive by the grace of God. I made a promise back in 2004, that if I did not perish to domestic violence related homicide, I would do everything in my power to ensure victims of domestic violence and their children had the tools they need to prevent homicide and survive and thrive.
Joining with Cynthia to honor victims lost with promoting this production is an honor for me and I will never be able to thank you and those involved providing support with enough thanks and praise. Thanks to you and those that support this project millions of lives will be saved now and in to perpetuity.
Please feel free to call upon me further if you need any additional information. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
