Saddle Up and Help MACHiNENOiSY Create BAMBOOZLED!
The scuttlebutt's true, we're makin' a cuttin' edge dance show!
Delia Brett and Daelik of MACHiNENOiSY are circling their wagons with hillbilly rocker Petunia, aerialist Jamie Tea and powerhouse performers Alex Ferguson, Tanya Podlozniuk and Bevin Poole to create the Wildest Show in the West: BAMBOOZLED!
What do Vaudeville and Wild West shows of the 19th Century have in common with Lady Gaga and 50 Cent?
They created celebrities by glorifying and commodifying personalities and behaviours that deviate wildly from social norms. Then as now, drunkenness, criminality or sexual transgressions were socially unacceptable... unless they were on the stage - there they become Big Time Entertainment. The biggest stars of the day were cross-dressing sharp-shooter Calamity Jane and the outlaw Wild Bill Hickok, whose self-destructive shoot-out will continue into the 21st Century in BAMBOOZLED.
The world premiere of BAMBOOZLED will take place July 5th, 2013 at Vancouver’s Scotiabank Dance Centre.
Scratch Our Back and We'll Scratch Yours!
Through partnerships and public funding, MACHiNENOiSY has been able to raise much of the capital needed for the creation of BAMBOOZLED, but we still need to raise $12000 to realise this complex endeavour.
Your contributions will go directly toward artist fees, costumes, rental of the rigging equipment for the aerial artist, and rehearsal space rental.
To show our appreciation and to welcome you into the posse, we have created “perks”, from MACHiNENOiSY buttons to an intimate performance by the cast, or, most excitingly, the opportunity to have a cameo part in the show. So STEP RIGHT UP!
New In Town, Pardner?
MACHiNENOiSY has a proven track record of creating and producing work locally, nationally and internationally. Our multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to dance making has marked us as innovators and courageous rule breakers (the Georgia Straight called us "Architects of Dance") and has served to diversify our audience appeal.
No matter how large or small, your contribution will have a direct impact on the performers involved and the project as a whole. Especially in these difficult economic times, providing funding proves that you value our ability as artists to inspire new ways of imagining the self and the human condition.
We can't do it without you. Thank you.
No Gold? You’re still a star!

Helping to raise a dollar is just as good as donating a dollar!
