The beginning of an RPG universe
I have been playing, and creating house rules for, tabletop role playing games since the first box edition of D&D. One day in 2007 while I was busily writing a house-rules supplement for another tabletop RPG I played, I began to get ideas well beyond the simple weapons manual I was drafting. I caught myself pondering rules, and fantasy realities outside the universe I was writing for. At this point I chucked the whole supplement and began work on a unique universe and system of play culminating in the APOCalypse 2500 Main Rule Book. Since then it has grown to include the GM's Campaign Guide with bestiary, a reference book called Magic & Techno-Sorcery, and a Zombie source book as well as several adventure scenarios and other GM resources.
The world of APOCalypse 2500
The game is set in the 26th century (hence the reference to the year 2500 in the name) in a world markedly changed from the one we know in the 21st century. The basic premise of the game is that science in its zeal to create instantaneous pan-oceanic travel opened an uncontrollable wormhole. This new phenomenon became self sustaining in the Arizona desert where it connects earth to alternate realities in time and space.
Not to retell the whole back story of the game, which can be read in the main rule book, however the "vortex" as it is referred to in the game cause's major changes to the world leading to reformation of continents and worldwide civilization collapse. The time of the game setting is 400 years after the vortex's formation. The world of Apocalypse 2500 is populated by humans, mutants, and aliens, and nearly all the ancient legendary races like elves, dwarfs, and trolls. In this new world of the 26th century, or 4th century AV in game time, it is entirely possible to encounter creatures using a mix of magic and technology. This leads to some interesting scenarios where you have Orc armies with horse drawn carts mounting .30 cal machine guns led by a techno-sorcerer warlord.
In writing this game I have gone to great lengths to explain the technology, magic, and create new twists on the familiar creatures and monsters of legend. The reason that magic exists in this post apocalyptic future and the reasons it permeates ancient human legend is well explained in a very unique and believable way.
This mix and match of technology and magic is also available to player characters as well, who are not bound to the rigid "class" systems allowing cross vocational skill acquisition leading to an endless number of custom character types. A large number of player character species are available as usage of many creatures from the bestiary is possible.I hope you enjoy the APOCalypse 2500 universe...

What's the money for
After exploring the world of traditional publishing, I decided that self publishing was the way to go. I am having some success selling in the US, UK, and EU, through my own website, lulu.com, and Amazon.com, but more is needed. With so many thousands of pages on the web talking about gaming, if one doesn't have a professionally built well promoted website one will fade into obscurity. I am here on Indiegogo, to raise capital for a professionally designed website and to finance continuing internet promotion. The funding will maintain such efforts until the game itself reaches a large enough audience to sustain a promotional cycle. A small percentage of the money will be spent to establish a product presence in a local game shop. Should this campaign fall short on its goal, what money is raised will still be spent to promote the game and develop a better internet presence.
