The bottom line is, we’re storytellers. We’re a group of students who were inspired by great
stories and decided to pursue a life of making movies.
And now, we ARE making a movie: its working title is Adagio in C minor, and it’s the story of
Carter, a son just out of high school who loses his mother earlier than anyone ever should.
He and Thomas, his father, now only have each other, but instead of connecting, their
opposing methods of grieving bring them into conflict. Carter’s mother had taught him to
play the cello, and his music is now all that he has left of her; however, his father feels that
he is dwelling in the past, and that it’s time to move on. Inspired by the director’s personal
experience with loss, the film shows grief from an honest perspective: it’s not something that
Carter can ever get over, but it is something that, with support, he can push through.
We’re currently in the preproduction phase, but the shoot dates are coming up fast! We’re
going to be shooting the film from March 23 to March 25. It’s going to be about ten minutes
long, but making even a ten-minute film is a very involved process, and we need your help.
What We Need & What You Get
We need just a little bit of financial support to pay for things like locations, equipment,
and production design. We’re looking for $2,000 to add to the $650 that we receive from
the school. Every cent of this money is going go towards making our story as powerful as
possible. Better lights, better sets, and more efficient production are all things that will help
us to make a better film.
Without this support, the reality is that we will not be able to make this film to its fullest
potential. We’re excited about this project, and we believe in the story that we’re telling,
which is why we need you to help us make this the best film it can possibly be!
In case helping burgeoning young filmmakers achieve their dreams isn’t enough incentive,
we’ve decided to provide some prizes for you, our donors. If you donate any amount $5 or
above, you’ll be given a Special Thanks credit in our film. Any donation above $10 allows
you to see the film whenever you want. But if you start donating in higher amounts, you can
get even more exciting prizes, such as signed photos from the set, the film’s soundtrack, or
even an original piece of music written exclusively for you by the film’s composer!
