Hi, my name is Judit, and I'm trying to help raise the remainding funds for RSDR (Rudozem Street Dog Rescue, located in Bulgaria) so they can finish their shelter project, and the government will not be able to shut them down.
In 2007, the Rowles family moved to Bulgaria from the UK, so they can enjoy a more peaceful life. To their shock, the mass abuse of dogs and cats welcomed them. It became more and more difficult not to do something, so they started the Rudozem Street Dog Rescue nonprofit foundation. They have been raising money to purchase a land and build an animal shelter/clinic for these animals.
Right now, they are running the shelter from their own home, which is in a residential area, and the government can order them to give up the animals at any time.
There are no laws in Bulgaria that protect animals of the streets. They are constantly being rejected, spit on, kicked, hanged, stoned, and shot. It's heartbreaking to see the animals walk up to the people with their tails wagging, but in return they get nothing but hatred. Many of the dogs are starving, in pain, or injured. They desperately need the love and care of loving individuals like the Rowles family.
Currently, there are 30 shelters across Bulgaria, but most of them hell pits for the animals. This is one of the main reasons the Rowles strive to finish their shelter/clinic.Unfortunately, a lot of the animals go through so much abuse that they cannot be adopted, so they stay at the Rowles permanently.
I am trying to raise 25,000 USD for their shelter/clinic project, but anything will do. If you cannot donate, please share this link with anyone you can. If you can donate, you will be helping:
- establish a basic medical care facility for injured/abused animals
- establish temporary AND permanent homes for the animals
- establish a spay/neuter facility to reduce pet over population
- to vaccinate animals so they will not spread/catch diseases
- to provide food to as many as the Rowles can feed, and their undying love for the animals
You can also donate directly to them: www.streetdogrescue.com
Thank you in advance.
