Intro/Summary of A Measure in Time

My name is Caleb Michael Pearson, the creator of Pearson Productions and the Writer, Director, and Producer of the short film, A Measure in Time. I have graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a double major in Communications and Digital Cinema Productions. I have worked on multiple short film shoots, the Pioneers of Television series, and the work I did on my own short film, Dirty Business.

We are trying to shoot a film that is simplistic in its execution, but profound in its ambitions. A Measure in Time is a film about how in life’s most crucial moments, we make decisions that impact our living and well being for the rest of our lives. Our main character Roy, an up and coming pianist gets in a car crash the day before his recital. Trying to pull through, the recital turns into a failure. Years later, Roy tells his story to a pastor, asking for forgiveness. He weaves his tale, but as with many stories, things aren't always what they seem.

The Campaign

This campaign is important not only for us, but for filmmakers everywhere who have a great story to tell. Our film appreciates the visuals, while creating a story that is applicable to every life. We all have regrets. We all can relate.

Through this film, we want to tell a great story the best we can. Can we do it bare minimum? Of course. But anything we can attribute to our storytelling abilities will make the film that much better.

You could be part of a quality film. One that merits great standards on every level, and it only costs you $1!

Where The Money is Flowing

We ideally need $2000 to cover crew and cast costs, along with equipment, advertising, and distribution purposes. Here are some things we wish to rent/purchase with your help:

  •   Dollies and Jib
  •   Lighting Kit-Softboxes and Hardlights
  •   Zeiss Prime Lenses for Canon
  •   Audio Equipment-Boom Mic/Wireless
  •   Actor/Crew Salary
  •   Salary for Creative/Postproduction help

Our perks are pretty fantastic. With your help, we are giving away:

  •   Posters from the film
  •   DVD Hardcopy of the film
  •   Autographed Stills
  •   Thank You Credit in the film
  •   Producer Credits
  •   And signed Cast and Crew Pictures!

These are all fantastic perks. How can you go wrong? You can’t!

And if we go over our donation goal, the money will go to helping with submitting the movie to film festivals where we can showcase the film to as many people as possible.

The Impact/Goal of the Film

We want to create films at Pearson Productions that you can enjoy and learn from. Human life is so fascinating, whether it be a celebrity or regualr Joe that lives down the street. We want to find those stories and bring them to light.

Our project is special because it gives a great story the fighting chance it deserves. Our story covers something that we don’t really see too often, the meltdown of a piano genius. It’s a simple concept, but with a new twist. It’s not something that will blow you away with visual effects, but one that will tug at your heartstrings and engage every essence of your being.

I did everything in my short film one year, and I know what it takes to put something like this together on my own. I want great people around me to better myself and the project. I know what it takes to make a good short film, and I need your help to make it a great one.

For the Frugal Folks

If you haven’t a buck to spare, spread the word! Use that Twitter and Facebook to the fullest you can. I do everyday, and I know you can do! So please, help some small time filmmakers make a big time film. We can do it. But we need your help!

Thanks so much for your time, and have a fantastic day!
