Please check out our video Updates as well!
Throughout our campaign, we've continued to add other perspectives of our story so that you're not only hearing it from us, but also from the community, news outlets, family, and health care professionals who specialize in drug and alcohol addictions.
Every $100 keeps our doors open for one more day! For an addict in recovery who is living one day at a time, that one day can make a difference in someones life.
Humble Beginnings of a Nonprofit
The 4th Dimension Sober Club (4DSC) is a new nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Our mission is simple: “To provide a safe and fun environment for the recovery community.”
We are building an organization familiar with the difficulties of addiction and thrive to lessen these difficulties by offering a place to have fun and make long lasting friendships with others who understand what life in recovery is like.
A Brief History4DSC was established because there was a need for a place to hang out and socialize with friends in a clean and dry environment. Portland is a great place to start because there is already an active recovery community here. There are about 400 twelve step meetings a week in the greater Portland area, but there is a very limited number of places to gather in large groups without the temptations of drugs and alcohol. This modest idea has blossomed into a full fledged nonprofit organization with hopes to not only reach the Portland recovery community, but to create a blueprint of the "sober club" concept that can make a positive difference throughout the nation.
We've already had a tremendous amount of success generating interest and bringing in new people in need of a place like this, but with your help and proper funding, the potential to help people across the country is limitless.
Our Goals and Plans
Our goal for this fundraiser is $27,000. This will cover 6 months of Operational costs:
(Budget Break Down on a Monthly Basis)
- Rent = $3,500
- Marketing = $300
- Insurance (Liability) = $100
- Cleaning/Operational Supplies = $500
Grand Total of $4,400 a month. That's a bare-minimum of $52,800 a year.
If we exceed that goal, we have plans to hire a full-time staff member to oversee daily operations. Our projected budget including a Staff member looks the same as above, plus an annual salary of $30,000. We've also accounted for unexpected miscellaneous costs, that may be anything from event permits to money going in to implementing new programs.
- Staff = $2,496
- Miscellaneous/Unexpected Costs = $500
Grand Total of $7,396 a month, or $88,752 a year.

With enough funding, we would like to put money in to Building Upgrades to make the club a desirable location and as fully functional to reach the most people possible. The wish-list upgrades include:
- New Paint
- Mens and Womens Restrooms
- Wheel Chair Accessible
- New Furniture
- Electronic Appliances
Even if we don't reach our entire goal in this fundraiser, all the money raised will go towards paying rent so that we can keep our doors open 7 nights a week and continue to raise funds elsewhere.
The Impact Your Donation Will Make
Not only will our nonprofit greatly improve the social life of the recovery community, but it will have a positive impact on the entire community as a whole.
We have cleaned up an old warehouse that used to be used for after-hour raves and parties, and turned it in to the exact opposite: a drug-free environment where people who are changing their lives for the better can socialize and come together as a community. This is a place that they can do something good for themselves and others.
Your donation will help make this happen now and last for future generations to come. This is a relatively new concept that we hope to bring to new cities and reach all the people in recovery that we possibly can. Everyone needs a night out with friends!
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can’t contribute money, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help. We are also accepting donations in forms of:
- Office Supplies
- Building Supplies/Tools/Equipment
- Recreational Equipment
- Electronic Equipment
And last but not least, HELP US SPREAD THE MESSAGE! Please share this video, our story, and our dream for a better community with everyone you can. We believe this concept makes a better world for everyone living in it.
And that’s all there is to it. Thanks for reading this far. And especially THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
