About "CruisIN' the D'™"

Detroit is known for two things: CARS and MUSIC …

On August 14 - 17, 2014, the Inaugural CruisIN’ The D’™ will serve as Detroit's 1st Annual Detroit Car Cruise, Classic Car Showcase and Music event!

CruisIN’ The D’s™ mission is to promote Detroit nationally while increasing tourism and commerce within the city limits. CruisIN’ The D’™ has been designed to stimulate business development in Southeastern Michigan while raising funds for charitable causes, and celebrating our rich culture of Cars and Music.

CruisIN’ The D’s™ purpose is to capture the essence of working together for charitable causes and, ultimately, highlighting progressive regionalism in Southeastern Michigan.  Wayne and Oakland counties will share a neighborly love for cars and music as their residents cruise side-by-side, enjoying festivities, viewing unique vehicles and mingling with automobile lovers.

On August 14, CruisIN’ The D’™ will host a Charity Motorcycle Cruise down historic Woodward Ave. to Burt's Marketplace in Eastern Market.

On August 16, 2014, CruisIN’ The D’™ will invite the Woodward Dream Cruisers to enter a revitalized Detroit. Cruisers will travel along Woodward Avenue from south 8 Mile Road to Palmer Park, where they will cruise along the "Detroit Loop" (Woodward - Merrill Plaisance - 7 Mile - Woodward). Palmer Parker will serve as CruisIN’ The D’s™ hub, showcasing a variety of classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, entertainment, and Detroit businesses.

CruisIN’ The D’™ will be an exciting celebration of cruising, classic car showcases, music/concerts, and entertainment for all.  Attractions will include a "Kids' Corner, "Come Taste Detroit" - offering delicious food from a variety of local restaurants/caterers, and local businesses and vendors, who will create a festive atmosphere that is sure to attract visitors from near and far.

A "Best in Class" Car Competition will also take place. Winning Cars will be displayed at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on Sunday, August 17, 2014 during the African World Festival.

CruisIN’ The D’™ will gain national and international exposure via television, radio remote, satellite, and social media highlighting Detroit’s rebirth and building excitement around the City, cars, and music!

Proceeds from CruisIN’ The D’™ will support local charities (including but not limited to, the "People of Palmer Park Non-Profit" and the Woodward Avenue Action Association - W3A).

This historical, landmark event will highlight the city of Detroit as an excellent tourist attraction that will stimulate annual business growth and commerce.

Ways You Can Help

The planning has come together, however, we are finding that we will need additional (grassroots) support to assist with the funding and the overall success of this and future CruisIN’ The D’™ events.

CruisIN’ The D’™ Committee goals are to produce an extraordinary annual event in the City of Detroit and to be able to donate to and support local charities and businesses.

We need your financial support, and we need you to share this CruisIN’ The D’™ Campaign request with all of your Social Networks, and everyone else that you know (family, friends, business and personal associates)!

*Indiegogo share tools are also available for your use.

Anyone who donates $100+ will receive the Official "2014 Inaugural CruisIN’ The D’™" T-Shirt.

Feel free to contact Nikki Howard-Combs, Executive Director - CruisIN’ The D’™ for additional information or if you would like to volunteer for this event!

The City, State and the World are watching to see if we can get this done … and we will … By any means necessary!
