MEROBI Films consists of Director Gary Robinov and Cinematographer Dean Merrill in Portland, Maine.
This year we were invited to shoot a short film for this year's Damnationland showcase, and we need your help to make it happen! Damnationland is in it's 4th year as a traveling showcase of films made by film makers who grew up or are living in Maine. The showcase travels to areas such as New York City, Los Angels, and many other locations across the country and is a great opportunity to show the quality of work we can produce here.
In order reach our desired level of production we need to raise money for some small builds, lighting equipment, food, and most importantly to pay the hard working professionals for their time. It is important to us that we are able to provide a situation where the artists can practice their craft, while making it financially viable to take on such projects.
Michael, a recovering drug addict who struggles with anxiety and depression in his every day life, decides to set an intention for the week by letting go of the past and embracing the new person he hopes he can be. With this wish and an open mind, a stranger enters his life: to help or to hurt? He doesn't know, but the similarities between them are too close to call a coincidence. As he tries to stay clean and sober--he also realizes he must fight to stay alive.
What We Need & What You Get
The funding we raise will go to paying the hard working artists that will be working on this production as well as funding lighting rentals, food, and a small set piece we need to build. Our need is actually much higher than our goal, but this will help us get there.
In return for your donations, you can get rewards ranging from a sneak peak party to having your own role as an extra in our film!
Your donations will it not only allow this production to be possible but more importantly it will give the cast and crew the chance to make something they are proud of, and will be recognized nationally for. Both Dean Merrill and Gary Robinov believe so much in this project that they will not be taking any money for themselves.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't donate money to our campaign, there are still ways you can help. Please share this campaign with your friends and family!
